The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has received its official unveiling, and the ads are now starting to flow.
More than a few have already hit YouTube; they feature spokeswoman and comedienne Kristen Schaal. The chipmunk-voiced funny lady joins the awesome Kevin Butler in Sony's camp and we figure she fits in nicely. There are plenty of new commercials out there and three are below; Schaal talks about how the Xperia Play features Gingerbread 2.3, the slide-out gamepad, and other nifty options like…editing spreadsheets, or checking out kittens.
Expect to see a lot more of the Xperia Play in the coming months, as more than a few gadget lovers are quite excited about the new product. For our part, if we can get our hands on one, we'll be sure to tell you all about it…

Well for some reason my pc isn't producing any sound at the moment so I can't really enjoy the videos. Just from watching in silence though, she seems to compliment Mr. Butler nicely.

Good for her, if that bird-girl would have come to me and said "I'm going to make it big in advertising and TV" I would have laughed at her. Jokes on me though, she's pretty good on the Daily Show.
I laughed so hard I cried a little. I've never heard of her before, but that was hilarious.
However in the second video someone should have told her that that was not an ak47.
These are so SO good lol.
Loved her in flight of the concords. The third advert had me cracking up. "I didn't feel it either cos my boobs are so big". Love it.

LOL, she's funny. Sony really struck gold with this method of advertising. I find KB funnier though, I'm guessing it's because he's a dude and, to guys, male comedians are funnier.
was interested in getting one after my iphones contract is out…… till i saw the specs!
i mean come on, the freaking iphone 4 makes this look like a dinosaur, let alone the new iphone which should be out around the same time as this!
and if SE stick to there pricing, it would make it roughly the same price too!

my W810 spent more times in the repair shop then it did at home or in use!
my W850 was not much better, the slider got stuck on it and would not close.
a friend of mines got their new touchscreen phone, 4 months old and has had the battery replaced 3 times!
keeps dying on him, cant hold a charge for more then 5 hours!
sony makes reliable equipment as well as the french do!

I am looking forward to trying out this phone, perhaps I will get my current phone and contract upgraded but it really depends on my friends feedback and reviews. I currently have sony experia mini pro as it fits nicely in my pocket but it's not a good phone at all, the battery life is less than 19hrs without use, although it has been better now and lasts 24hrs without much use/all the wireless/3g turned off. I'm not sure how this experia play will perform, I hope it has improved a lot not just a mere addition of the gamepad.
The adverts were ok, some were funny but I kinda wanted to see more.
On Flight of the Conchords, she's HILARIOUS.
Cute? ummm…yeah…
Anyway, where are these ads expected to play? A bleeped out "F-you!" and boob stabbing? Not necessary to push what looks like a very cool device.

Those were hilarious, phone looks great and running gingerbread. Hopefully Sony Ericsson will get this one updated when ice cream comes out.

Imagine her and KB in one epic commercial. Id like them to work together but I can see how a rivalry between the two would be even more hilarious.
The commercials are ok but they may scare away some of the weaker stomached and God fearing potential customers. All I know is that if certain individuals I know saw that reverse demon voice commercial they would not be an owner of this phone.

I personally don't think she's very cute but my taste in women is vastly in a different direction than her. Also her voice makes my ears hurt. Still not very interested in this phone as I am in the Thunderbolt and a NGP.
Things like PSN games not working on the phone and having to repurchase things miff me a bit. Also, I want a smart phone to be a smart phone, not a game device. I want a handheld game device for that.
Makes me feel the same way I do about multiplat vs exclusive games. If you focus on one thing you can have the best of the best, if you spread out the functionality you can have a very good both. I would rather have best of the best personally
