Developer Gearbox has announced the first piece of DLC for DNF: it's called the Hail to the Icons Parody Pack , and it features four new maps, four new weapons and three new modes. Obviously, these are all for the multiplayer aspect of the game.
The maps will sort of poke fun at other shooters like Call of Duty and Doom – that oughta be interesting – and the new modes will be Freeze Tag, Hot Potato, and Hail to the King, which is just a free-for-all blast-fest. By the way, if you're a member of the First Access Club, you can snag this DLC for free, which is yet another bonus for subscribers. They got a shot at the demo first, too.
For those who have to pay for the pack, we don't yet have a price but it will probably come in at $10. Despite the poor critical reception, Duke Nukem Forever came in at #2 on the sales charts for June. …yes, well, that's what a name and 13 years of hype can do for you.

I could have totally got on the 'poke fun at the FPS cliche's' bandwagon. Then I played the DNF demo and now I just poke fun at that instead.
I still agree with Duke, Power Armor is for pus*ies.
Naked Gun movies poked fun at countless classics….does that make it better than one of them ala Platoon?

DNF can take the piss out of Doom no problem, but in no way is DNF better than Doom and that's fine, joke still works.
Well, its nice to get this for free I guess but I wonder how long the MP in this game will last. I'd prefer some SP stuff.
It's not too late to fix the Duke! With the money it made at number 2 we can make him better, stronger, faster, snarkier than he was before. It's time to stop pissin' around and get this big guy back in action.

Anyway, i don't usually get excited for things like this, but it sounds very imaginative and the jokes about CoD sound lethal!
Sounds like one for the ol skool gamers as they can respect things like the BFG gun, that's something right there.
The multiplayer on DNF was nothing short of brilliant.
I really hate to tell you this, but there is absolutely nothing in DNF that even begins to approach "brilliant."

"Eeeh, I hate Valve puzzles" I mean c'mon that's brilliant during a puzzle that has valves.
I finished the campaign but have not tried the multiplayer aspect of the game yet. Maybe I'll check out the DLC later, if it's free. I'm busy right now playing LA Noire (great game btw).
