GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Infiltrates PS3, 360 This Fall

Ah, GoldenEye . I almost regretted not owning an N64 for that game. Almost.

But anyway, Bond is back in a big way. Activision has announced GoldenEye 007: Reloaded , which will launch on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall.

It's built on a "brand new engine that delivers striking visuals, blistering fast gameplay and the ability to play using the PlayStation Move with Sharp Shooter peripheral." That's a nice little bonus, isn't it? Said Rob Dyer, SCEA Senior Vice President:

"Promising to be one of the most immersive and interactive Bond games to date, this is an outstanding opportunity for PlayStation fans to experience one of the most iconic and action-packed shooters in an all new way with PlayStation Move and the Sharp Shooter peripheral. By bringing together GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, and PlayStation Move's Sharp Shooter, we are continuing to expand the new world of motion-based entertainment appealing for hardcore fans and only possible on PlayStation."

Boasting high-definition visuals and a silky smooth 60 frames per second, Reloaded ought to be a blast. We'll get the brand new "M16 Ops Missions" (levels that are separate from the campaign), a great multiplayer (this is GoldenEye , after all), and that quintessential Bond experience that appeals to just about everyone.

Stay tuned for an exact release date.

Sounds like fun. GoldenEye on the N64 was pretty cool, but I'm not sure if the novelty will translate over well over the years (12 years?). Guess we'll have to wait and see.

(P.S.– I think there is a typo in the article. It should probably read "MI6 Ops Missions" as opposed to "M16". MI6 is the name for British Secret Services)

Nah thanks..I'd much rather have the original. This will probably turn into a generic shooter with all the upgrades..

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't just the "original" in "HD"??

No I don't believe it was. It was exclusively on the Wii so there was no need for it to be.

Thanks for the explanation. That would explain the Motion Controls. I still might give it a chance though. The original N64 game was a classic.

yea it def was. I fear for what they turn this 3rd version of the game into though. Did you see the trailer? It reminds me slightly of CoD (not suprising, its all under the Activision umbrella)…I'd hate to see one of my favorite games of all time get turned into another CoD clone.

But will it be totally remade or is it the same game from the wii?

So this is a remade (for HD graphics) version of the game that came out last year, that was a completely rebooted version of a game that came out 11 years ago? I loved Goldeneye on N64 but I don't know how much interest I'll have with all the other games coming out this fall.

Look for yearly installments. Can't wait for Goldeneye : Reloaded 2.

I've been a Bond fan since I was a kid and any Bond game is a good Bond game to me. Day 1 purchase for me.

I don't know if this was ever talked about before, but at Sony's Press Conference at E3 this year on screen when they showed what franchises were going to be using PS Move there was a gold "007" symbol at the top of the screen. I've been wondering since then, when this would be announced. In reality, Sony kinda gave this surprise away at their press conference, just nobody noticed.

I still have my 64 and goldeneye, played it 3 months ago actually, clearly you can tell nowadays Fps have evolve since the early fps like goldeneye. Even though a lot of things you can do now in fps that weren't in goldeneye it still feels unique to me when i was playing it. The game will probably be good as long as Actvision doesn't make this cod james bond version cause than it will fail hard.

Activision: We will squeeze a franchise even after it is long dead. This will flop like the Wii version did.

….but if it succeeds: GoldenEye: Modern Warfare launches in Fall 2012!

Why dont they just call it as it is, call of duty 4 Goldeneye Edition. New engine? maybe new engine for the game in general. we know they'll just use the same engine theyve been doing the past 4 years, the call of duty 4 engine with a different skin. If they label it call of duty, it might even push more units. i wouldnt even be surprised if they decide to "update" the gun selection and use the same guns in previous call of duty games so they can just recycle and reuse. As far as i see it, as long as people buy call of duty games, they're just going to reuse and recycle what they have.
