Square Enix's "Fabula Nova Crystallis" has managed to return, and with a familiar name. According to VG24/7 citing Gematsu, the publisher has trademarked the title, "Final Fantasy Agito."
This is almost like a re-registration, as Square Enix registered "Final Fantasy Agito XIII" for the game that would eventually be called Final Fantasy Type-0 . This was a PSP game that launched in Japan but never saw the light of day in North America. Perhaps this new registration hints at a US release…? Well, there's no way to tell, but Square Enix is supposedly bringing Final Fantasy news to E3 in a few weeks. So maybe that's where we'll learn the truth about this new/old registration.
We usually get FF-related news at E3. It's just rarely what we want to hear.
Make an updated version of it for the VITA, and I'm a VITA owner in the near future.

That is sooooooooo typical of them.
I bet it is a Vita release of this game in western territories, and NO new information about vsXIII.

Shinji Hashimoto said that the E3 announcement is related to both the Luminous Engine and the PS4. So, in the very unlikely scenario that Type-0 is getting remade with the Luminous engine for a next-generation platform, Final Fantasy Versus XIII won't be present. However, I feel we will all be pleasantly surprised in just a few more weeks.
Come on SE make me want to buy your products again.
Kinda hope it's just a regular old PSP game so I could check it out.
Now there is a lot to ponder on through this release. I have been saying for quite a while now that the Vita lacks many interesting exclusives – This is a biggie. I have also stated it would take a Final Fantasy or Metal Gear to get me interested and it had. But, obviously in Japan this was a title which was released on the PSP, a last gen console, should I really be inclined to buy a new console over a title which should have been released on the PSP. Also think about Final Fantasy Versus XIII. How would you all feel if it also went onto the PS4. Would you be motivated to buy a Playstation 4 for it? To me it would really show how S-E is lagging behind and I question if I should have to pay for it in buying new consoles as a consumer.
Though of course it could still be released on the original PSP. Final Fantasy III was released as a download title not long ago, so it is possible.
If they make this for the Vita, I'm sold. That's it. Done.
SE, you've done some really crappy stuff this gen, but release Type-0, Agito, whatever….only good things can come from this, seriously!
I remember playing the Japanese demo for Type-0 and I could tell that it was the FF that I wanted (not XIII).
While I'm practically dying for ANY news on VersusXIII, this is a step in the right direction.
