The Warriors PS2 Classic Battles Its Way Onto PSN Next Week

The Warriors are back!

If you aren't familiar with the name, you aren't old enough. And if you missed out on both the movie and the PS2 game, it might be time to catch up.

To assist, The Warriors is coming to the PlayStation Network. Rockstar announced that their 2005 action hit will be available on the PSN on May 28 in North America; it'll launch the following day in Europe. For only $9.99, you will enjoy one of the most unique and entertaining games of the last generation. For the uninitiated, the game is based on the classic film of the same name, which released back in 1979. It's a dystopian future and as leader of a gang in New York, you must fight to regain control of the streets.

There are already plenty of other Rockstar PS2 classics on the PSN. Remember that Red Dead Revelover , Bully , Manhunt and all the Grand Theft Auto titles are available. But man, nothing was quite like The Warriors . That game was just fun .

I missed the game when it first came out so I'll have to buy this. Pretty bold of Rockstar to make a game off of a 25-year old cult film; they should be rewarded for that alone.

Played for the first time on PS2 a couple of weeks ago and loved every minute of it and the combat in the game is AMAZING, 9.5/10 is my personal rating.

Probably the best movie tie in for a game ever (Unless you count Disney), if you are unfamiliar with The Warriors move, don't worry. The game acts as a prequel then goes on to tell the events of the movie and storywise it is still pretty good. It really does feel like a 3D streets of Rage, I would like to play this again 🙂
