Dark Souls Artorias Of The Abyss DLC Set For October 23

Are you prepared to once again dive back into the uber-challenging world of Dark Souls ?

Those who picked up the special Prepare to Die edition got the Artorias of the Abyss extra content, but that bonus gameplay will soon be available for everyone.

Namco Bandai Games America has announced that fans will be able to download Artorias of the Abyss on October 23, 2012, when it will hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Developer From Software will provide gamers with an enhanced online PvP mode, new maps and environments, new enemies and NPCs, and fresh weapons and armor. Here's a helpful, detailed overview from the press release:

Intense dungeon crawling and epic enemy encounters are all part of the seamlessly intertwined experience awaiting gamers in Dark Souls: Atorias of the Abyss. This new chapter in the Dark Souls lore allows console gamers to experience gruesome battles, diabolical challenges, powerful weaponry and magic, and gives players the flexibility to customize each character to suit their desired play style. The innovative online component allows gamers to draw from the collective experience of the Dark Souls community as they either assist or maliciously sabotage each other on the journey through the world of Lordran to save the land from darkness. Featuring a massive, seamless world design; Dark Souls: Atorias of the Abyss thrusts players into challenges presented to them and demands that players fully immerse themselves into the deep exploration and adaptable gameplay experience that only Dark Souls can provide.

Artorias, World. It's going to be some kick ass dlc, from what little I've allowed myself to see. EpicNameBro has done a great YouTube let's play series on the PC version and seemed suitably impressed, which is good enough for me!

More of a who than a what 😉 A great knight, companion/ owner of Sif, the huge wolf of one of the more well known boss battles of the game.
Not clear on his story yet, but he's caught in The Abyss and you fight him (or rather, his possessed form) at the climax of the new dlc. A hard battle, by all accounts, even by DaS standards.

I hope it's not to expensive.

that depends on if you consider 15 bucks expensive? (this is assuming you already have dark souls and just wanna buy the dlc)

Great DLC, playing it on PC and so far got 2 more bosses to go. Great content. You got to meet 2 of the other of Lord Gwyn's knights (Artorias and Ornstein + 2 more, find out for yourself)

I can't wait to get my hands on this piece of DLC. Judging by what I've heard, this is truly what a piece of DLC should look like.

It's great, but not too long.
The new are is basically where Oolacile stood (Which is the ruins of the Darkroot Forest)

Either way sounds pretty cool. I really dig these games so add-on content is a big plus for me. How's the difficulty?

So far I've taken down two bosses in the DLC.
Artorias is a beast though, one aggressive dude. Normal enemies in the forest are really annoying as they are all cramped into one spot so you have to fight 3 or more at the same time. I like it, it's challenging.

Man i feel so lucky these days , bought rainbow moon , then darksiders and sleeping dogs the same day , after that it was guild wars 2 , now borderland 2 ( if you liked the first you ll love that one ) , a little later resident evil 6 , closely followed by XCOM: Enemy Unknown and finally that AWESOME dlc .

No time to get bored these days .Especially since i finished none of them and plan to do so while waiting for black ops 2 .
