Ben-DutkaEarlier this year we learned that one of the most anticipated JRPGs of the generation wouldn't hit North American shelves until early 2013.
But with the release of a new trailer (see it below), we've allowed ourselves to get a little more excited: We've got a fresh release date, and it is indeed in "early 2013;" Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is slated to launch in North America on January 22 of next year. As you might've guessed, the UK date is three days later.
This new video also presents us with more of the English voice acting but if you prefer, you can always select the original Japanese voices instead. Many veteran JRPG fans are hoping that Level-5 can deliver an experience they've been missing from Final Fantasy , one that reminds them more of the good ol' days back in the '90s. You know, when JRPGs kinda ruled big time on the PS1.

Can't explain why, but there's something about this game I find really compelling.
The trailer warmed my heart. I really love studio gibli and level 5 sooooo I can't not buy this.
The fact that it's pretty close to a traditional JRPG is enough for me.
All Ghibli work has a certain charm about them. This game is no different. They are like the Disney of anime, only better. The moment I heard Ghibli was working on the story, I was sold.
I love the art style in this game. It looks like a playable cartoon. We don't get very many of those.
Eternal Sonata was like that too. Great graphics presentation.
Check out Valkyria Chronicles too. I love these games with artistic visual style.

Which shouldn't be hard for them to do considering they made one of the best JRPG's on the PS2. Dragon Quest VIII.

DQVIII. 125 hours. Didn't regret a second of it.
Yeah I put something like 100 hours into DQ8 as well. Easily my favourite JRPG of all time. As for this game, I smile every time I see it.
Is it sad that the biggest selling point for me is a traditional world map -_-;

Ya DQ8 was/is amazing. I remember after putting in 30+hrs I left the first continent and was like WOW this game is huge.
I have such high hopes for this game. I havent played many l5 games, I think my first was dq8. Dq8 was absolutely my favorite ps2 game, put in 100+ hours on both of my playthroughs. Ni no kuni seems a lot like dq8 and thats partially why im so interested in it. It also has a pokemon esqe feel to it to, which should work great.
People really need to support this game, maybe then we'll see many more big budget jrpgs. I hope it sales well, considering ghibli has quite the fan following.

*Sigh* I heard this news yesterday and am very, very disappointed by it. I refuse to postpone my trip, and it begins just one day before the release of Ni No Kuni. It's a ridiculous predicament, but whatever. It happens.

Will buy this Day 1. Love Level-5, love Ghibli, love single-player offline. Can't not love this!

After the way that D3 (part of Namco – who are publishing this game) have treated WKC2 players with L5's tacit approval; Level 5 can take a flying jump, as can Namco and D3. D3 is quite easily the single worst game publisher in the industry, bar none.
