After a few weeks of substantial rumors, some might call this the worst-kept secret of 2012.
But the speculation is all over now, as Electronic Arts has officially announced Crysis 3 , which will launch for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in spring of 2013.
The setting is the year 2047, and returning protagonist Prophet discovers the entire city of New York sealed inside a dome by the evil Cell Corporation. Dubbed the "Liberty Dome," the once great metropolis has become an "urban rain forest teeming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers." We always wondered which rumors were true – the rumor of it being set in NYC or the rumor of the game taking place in a jungle-like environment – and as it turns out, both were true.
There will be seven different territories; aka the Seven Wonders, and exploration should be a highlight. As for the engine, Crytek will once again use the critically acclaimed CryEngine, and Prophet will gain access to a sweet composite bow, an enhanced Nanosuit, and "devastating alien tech." If you're pumped, you just might want to pre-order the special Crysis 3 Hunter Edition, which features a bonus XP boost up to level five, a unique bow skin, and three exclusive dog tags.
Lastly, feel free to read up on other pre-order bonuses through the link above; there's the Stalker Pack, Overkill Pack, and Predator Pack. Can't wait to learn more about this one!

You all should check out the first official screenshots from the game. I love the combo of jungle and metropolis! This could give us an awesome "I, Legend" kind of experience.

Looks great, I'm in!
Looking forward to it… The ending of 2 left me wanting more. But I'm most looking forward to the mp. I love the mp in Crysis 2, too bad I couldn't get anyone to play with me.
Yes! The MP in C2 were AWESOME, no less. None of my friends played it either but that didn't keep me from playing quite a few rounds.
But I tried logging onto a MP round in C2 just a week or so ago, and sadly it seems few play it anymore. A shame, only last xmas the servers were full.
I had a hard time getting people to convert to Crysis 2, when EVERYBODY plays CoD. But I played Crysis 2 a lot and actually had a couple friends who enjoyed it as much as I.
look forward to it got both of em on ps3 and like bigrailer said the ending did leave me wanting more
Sweet.Crysis 3 is gonna be awesome!
was ZOE Collection already confirmed? I came across the title at Amazon as ore-order. Looks legit.

Well I hope the engine has smarter AI this time around. I want to get excited but it would only hurt me at this point b/c 2013 is too far away right now. The story doesn't sound to0 original, but when has it ever? Crysis 1 and 2 were great games. I'm sure this one will provide.
Looks like they are going to attempt a Bioshock like atmosphere with a closed world space.
I think the worst kept secret of the year is Blops 2.
Love the composite bow, I've been wanting to get into archery for a long time now.
Wasn't it something about Alcatraz becoming the new Prophet at the end there? "I am the prophet", wasn't it something like that he said at the end? The story was not entirely clear to me but I imagine it was something like that, that it was hinted that "the Prophet" had more to do with the suit than the person?

Little confused on the "Prophet" part myself. SPOILER"" pretty sure he blew his own brains out in the beginning of the second game, but if what the guy above said is true, the suit is the Prophet or whatever, ok then haha.
Great something else I have to get through with. But none the less I can't wait for C3 to come out.
playstation AU had a small snippet up for it today, my favourite line was "wide as crysis, tall as crysis 2!".
looks like crytek really are trying to go for that whole open sandbox appeal!
sounds good to me!
i demand to know what happened to Nomad and Psycho – damnit Crytek I need to know
Guaranteed to be great…on PC of course. Consoles, will wait and see. I honestly thought Crysis 1 was much better optimized than Crysis2 on consoles. hope by the time 3 rolls around, they've mastered tweaking the engine for consoles.
