VR Missions For Revengeance Coming Exclusively To PS3

If you're planning on getting Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance this month, you should definitely spring for the PlayStation 3 version. Here's why:

As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , there will be PS3-exclusive DLC VR missions added to what should be a stellar experience.

This extra content will boast no fewer than 30 all-new missions, all of which feature "that classic VR/Virtual Reality look inspired by the original Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions ." These missions are all about "pure, uncut gameplay that pushes Raiden's Cyborg body to its limits," so they sound like a blast! Expanding upon an already in-depth gameplay mechanic, the VR objectives involve a blend of combat training, tactical maneuvering, stealth-based approaches and more. Plus, they say that any veteran fan of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance or Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions will appreciate the effort.

Here's hoping that the combination of Kojima's storytelling and Platinum's gameplay results in an absolute must-play title.

This game plays great! The parrying is done very well and I just love Platinum. Exclusive content on the PS3 is always appreciated. I hope gamers support this game. I am going to try seriously to support them. I am stuck in decision mode right now between these 2 games:
Metal Gear Rising
ALIENS Colonial Marines
Wow, what a tough decision, I can only buy one!

I couldn't figure it out, couldn't parry, the angle of setting up your blade mode slices was cumbersome and Raiden was pretty weaksauce. I like the whole sword swinging idea though instead of the ol button mash. At least it's an innovation ya know. I'm not much for Platinum's corny storytelling though so I think I'll pass.

The slicing was kinda hard to do with the analog so I just blast away using triangle and square.
On the other hand, I also find it hard to parry and CAN'T DODGE IN COMBO!!!!
I know some of the mates here told me I can dodge but I just can't.
Slashing the Geckos halfway, wanted to jump away but too late even though I pressed jump about a second ago.

Good game with bad flaw.

I am glad to see I am not the only one who had a nissue with the Parry system in this game. When I fought against that Mech-dog-thing in the game it tells you to parry. Most of the time it didn't work and when it did Raiden couldnt not handle the impact and by the time Raiden is ready to attack again the Mech-dog-thing was already hitting me. I just ended up going against what the game told me and spammed jumping attacks. But it's pretty poor if a game tells you to do one thing and it doesn't work. Besides the Parry system though everything else with the gameplay was fine.

Parry is actually pretty easy, problem is that you learn it with that rabid dog, I died like 4 times before master the parry.

Very bad design, because the game has a tutorial but they don't make you practice there the parry system.

Am I the only one who thinks exclusive content for any platform is a pretty sleazy idea?

I haven't been so unsure about a game in quite a while. I pre-ordered it though because it's Metal Gear. I simply have to explore all things Metal Gear myself.
