Well, believe it or not, March just got a little more crowded.
Square-Enix has announced that Just Cause 2 , the highly anticipated sequel to the open-world sandbox style action title from 2006, will launch on March 23, 2010 in North America and three days later in Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia. Avalanche Studios is at the helm for this one; they're using the proprietary Avalanche 2.0 Engine, and we'll be placed in a huge Southeast Asian island paradise…that will soon turn into a warzone. It's 400 square miles so there will always be plenty to see and do as you'll wander around through "snow-capped mountains, sun-kissed beaches, dense jungle and arid deserts." Said Lee Singleton, General Manager of Square-Enix London Studios:
"Just Cause 2 offers the freedom to explore and tackle the world in any way you choose. The grapple and the parachute mechanic will change the way you play open-world games, allowing players to be in the air in seconds, tackling missions from above and using the aerial advantage. If you prefer to stay on solid ground, the choices offered by the grapple are limited only by your imagination."
Rico Rodriguez is back as the protagonist and while on the island of Panau, you must track down Rico's former boss and mentor, Tom Sheldon. Sheldon has apparently disappeared off the reservation and gone rogue, along with millions in stolen cash taken from his former employer (the Agency). And you know, those 400 square miles are gonna be loaded with stuff , including "over 100 vehicles and countless upgrades and collectibles." Yeah, March is jam-packed but as this one comes out towards the end of the month, maybe you'll have time to squeeze it in. It certainly looks like a major upgrade over the original.

Stick it in my in tray Ben I'll get to it eventually haha.
Seriously what is it with March with all these games ? It is getting as bad or as good as the time between October and December. Good for games coming out bad for us on the wallet side of things again.
Come the summer drought of games people will be happy but bored. However the amount of backlog many people have should keep them quiet. I know my backlog of games to beat keeps getting higher and higher.
Damn you Dragon Age and MW2 online, not to mention AC2 lol 🙂

I'll be to busy to buy this theres just some manybig games droping…they should push it back..
I never played the first one, I don't even remember much talk about it or even know what it's about so I might pick this up in the bargain bin if I don't find it on ebay for the cheap. But it had no chance of me buying in march anyway that month and beyond belongs to GT5 & GOW3, March is shaping up nicely for gamers though I can't remember this many games being released in March ever. I also have MAG to buy in January, and possibly BFBC2 when that drops I don't know what do.
I never heard of this game untill the ps3 mag did a article about it. And now its one of my most anticipated games of 2010. Can't wait i will definitly be getting this game. But it will prob be day 2 cuz i want to read up on the reviews.
The first one was enjoyable. For me at least. Basically, GTA in a different setting.

Holy MARCH!
This game looks pretty sweet but I think I'm going to cut down on the amount of games I buy next year. At the moment, I think the only titles I'm going to buy are God of War III (Ultimate Edition, obviously), The Last Guardian, Heavy Rain and possibly Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I'll pick up Metal Gear Solid Rising if that ends up coming out, too. I just become bored of open-world games quickly so Just Cause 2 will probably only be a rent for me.
gonna have to put this one off. still debating between GOW3 and FFXIII and it's not even march yet.
^Both? lol
Woohoo. Birthday in April. Plenty of time for PSXE Reviews. GT5 is a guarantee though!
Did a fortune teller told them to release their games in March?
March really is just crowded.
Wallets will continue to creeeeeeeeeeek under the strain!
Q!
"i am home"
wow looks like im having a early holiday next year.
really cant wait for this and MAFIA 2.
when the %$#@ is that going to come out its been delayed like 20 times, and been in development since the beginning of time.
not to mention max payne 3 and red dead redemption
These bottlenecks where 4 to 5+ games are coming out in the very same month are going to put a big hurt sales-wise on some of those new games.
I think Sony needs to get together with all these developer/publishers & implement some kind of "Arrival" system so all of the games could be spread out equally over the 12 month period.
Even if a game get set back for more polish or what-not, they could still stick it into a month later where there's not as many new arrivals as with these multi-game filled months we're starting to see now.
Just my 2-cent piece
+1
Is their any benefit to the way games are released in this way, why not just wait till another months payday? It is not like games are cheap, so people are not likely to spend another wedge whilst in the shop on a whim.
but why delay a game if its ready?
the earlier it comes out the better, because the earlier the price drops.
i would rather 10 games come out in one month than 10 games come out in 3 months.
if they come out in the one month i would buy say 3 than the rest later at a decreased price.
if they were wider spread i would probably buy them all on release because thats all there is.
thats why i love the oct-dec rush, because instead of getting games at 110 bucks i can get them at 90 bucks because theve been out for a few weeks.
not allways though, bloody unreal tournament 3 has been out what 2 years? and its dropped 10 bucks in price.
gears 2 has been out for just over 1 year and its still 99.95
