Sega Announces Yakuza Milestones

This is one of those times where the logic police steps in and says, "yeah, well, if you released that third entry to the rest of the world, the numbers would be even higher ."

Of course, there's a whole lot of work involved in making the translations and all that, but even so…we so desperately want Yakuza 3 . Today, Sega has announced that they've already shipped over 500,000 copies of the freshly released action title. It took only three weeks to hit that number and in total, the critically acclaimed and very popular franchise has shipped 3.2 million copies worldwide. Of course, only the first two entries are currently available "globally" as we're still waiting to hear about when Yakuza 3 breaks Japanese borders. As further good news for fans, Sega has hinted that they plan to issue some sort of "thank you" to everyone who has contributed to Kazuma and Co.'s success over the past few years. We have no idea what we'll receive, but perhaps it'll come in the form of downloadable content; remember, Yakuza 3 is the first iteration of the series to appear on a next-gen console. The previoius two were PS2 titles, and both were pretty damn good.

We've heard nothing but positive feedback concerning the third one, as it's supposed to be bigger and badder than its predecessors. We could really use a game like this, and we're hoping Sega speeds up the process…we had to wait a year for both Yakuza and Yakuza 2 , and we'd rather not wait that long for the first Yakuza on PS3.

What the hell Sony ? You have 3 well received exclusives(WKC, Demon's Souls & Yakuza 3)released in Japan without any plans for a release for the rest of the world . Do you not like money or what ?

Well deserved for Sega, now get working on our worldwide copies.

Now Square-Enix i'd like for you to imagine all of the sales you would be getting while putting your games on the ps3
