Borderlands 2 Receives Support As Long As It Remains Popular

Borderlands 2 is easily one of the year's most popular games and provided it remains popular, developer Gearbox Software will continue to support it.

We've already seen multiple expansions for the critically acclaimed title, and another – Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt – will release next month for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. But that might not be the end for this addictive sequel.

In speaking to IGN , a 2K Games representative has said that both the developer and publisher would be willing to support Borderlands 2 as long as people keep playing it. That's an obvious hint that more DLC should be in the making and furthermore, they're talking about raising the level cap at some point in the first quarter of 2013. Right now, I believe that cap sits at 50 and we're sure a lot of hardcore fans would like to see that limit raised.

If you haven't played Borderlands 2 yet, you're missing out. Expect to see it nominated several times during our upcoming 2012 Game of the Year Awards… Stay tuned for those!

Glad to hear they plan to support it and keeo supporting it. We know theres atleast 2 mire dlc packs coming 1 unnanounced. Hope to see more. Id love the kevel cap to be raised. I actually think it would benefit the game to have it sooner than later, esoecially with a third dlc pack coming.

A good reminder that online multiplayer is just a timed feature.

They talk about DLC? The DLC is the same for single player and multi player, there is no difference in Borderlands.

Yeah im quite confused as what youre referring too. These are not map packs, they are expansion packs for both single player and co-op. As beam saiid they are one in the same.

I mean about MP in games in general, their popularity is measured by their online MP community, thus that determines developer support.

Ok I see what youre saying, but that doesnt really apply with this game.

They raised the level cap in the first Borderlands too. It's a wise move.

in that case, there will never be a borderlands 3, and get ready for a gazillion DLC packs because there will always be popular!
cant believe how popular in fact, its a awesome game, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than the original!
but there is no way in hell its half as good as its tooted up to be!
in fact behind AC3, id say its THE most overrated game of the year!

Well I guess I will have to buy this game now. I was gonna wait till the game of the version but if the keep releasing DLC there will never be a GOTY version.

It's worth every penny right now. I have spent more time with this game than any game ever. The season pass is well worth it as well. You can now also purchase the CE goodies as well, if you like.

IMO, the 5th class (Mechromancer) is more than worth it's cost. Just a great overall game. Dollar/hour it's the greatest entertainment value I've ever experienced. Buy it NOW. Don't wait! 🙂
