Gabriel Stanford-ReisingerSony has apparently staffed up a new studio with employees of the recently shuttered Deviation Games, which was in the process of making a “groundbreaking AAA new IP.” It seems with this new development studio, its shifting gears to another new IP.
As discussed by former Deviation technical director Michael Anthony on LinkedIn, he’s heard a lot of the staff set up their own studio under Sony. The original studio’s co-founder, Jason Blundell, is also linked to the studio after dipping on Deviation back in 2022.
It’s unclear what the studio is now working on, but we can hope this isn’t going to end up as a repeat of Deviation.
