Mighty No. 9 Delayed Yet Again, Inafune Sincerely Apologizes

It was a successfully backed Kickstarter project and everyone was excited.

But with each delay, those who contributed their money to the promising game get a bit antsier.

The last delay was due to problems with the game's online features, and that caused the release date – originally set for 2015 – to slip to February 9, 2016. Now, unfortunately, the developers say these online issues were more "critical" than they initially thought, which has brought about the game's third delay. And this time, no new date has been given.

Comcept boss Keiji Inafune tries to explain the difficult situation , saying the team has been working very hard to resolve the network issues, but the problems are a little different for each of the platforms on which the game is scheduled to appear. Inafune assumes full responsibility and apologizes, and he does say that "the end is in sight." They just want to "wait and make sure everything is confirmed" before issuing another launch date. The good news is that it should arrive this spring.

Added Inafune:

"For this 3rd delay of the game, we have no excuses for disappointing our fans and especially our backers once more. We want to take this chance to express our sincerest apologies to everyone who has looked forward to the release.

We are all working hard to make sure that we can finish and release the game to all of our fans as quickly as possible, and ask once more for your support of this project that we have created together over these last few years."

Mighty No. 9 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in both physical and digital format, and it will be available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in digital format only. Supposedly, Vita and 3DS iterations are also in the works but we've never received an estimated date for them.

Well, they have to get it right…right?

I definitely want this game. Capcom doesn't seem to want to make a new mega man game, so this will do nicely.
