We've been waiting and waiting for Sony to announce the next Gran Turismo installment and now it's here.
Revealed during Sony's press briefing at Paris Games Week, Gran Turismo Sport is the latest brainchild of Polyphony Digital and GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
Scheduled to land on PlayStation 4 next year, this exclusive will take advantage of the extra power offered in the new console, resulting in improved graphics, physics and sound. But above all else, they want to "deliver a revolution in the way that people experience driving games, a figurative 'rebirth' of motorsports." In the game, there will be two FIA online championships running simultaneously; you can either choose to represent your home country in the Nations Cup or represent your favorite car maker in the Manufacturers Cup.
Amazingly enough, the winners of each championship will be awarded with an FIA prize giving ceremony. And yeah, that's pretty historic, because it'll be the first time a video game will be officially recognized as part of the real racing world. Polyphony has worked alongside the FIA to develop a game that will be more realistic than ever, so we can't wait to see it.
The good news it's not all about online racing. There will be plenty of content for offline players as well, although they haven't discussed those details just yet. Lastly, a Gran Turismo Sport beta should kick off in the spring, so stay tuned for more info.

So whats next sony gonna do there own version of forza Horizon .
GT & GT Sport Vs Forza Motorsport
No, I'm confident GT Sport won't be an bi-annual release game like Forza horizon. It's pretty clear to me the focus of this game. There wouldn't be any need of sequels for this. If you know GT6, you'd know how powerful the power of updates are.
Also, it has been confirmed by Sony that this is not GT7 or full fledged traditional GT game, which is yet to be announced. It is described as something more substantial than a Prologue, but not as beefy as the main GT title.

Doubt it, PD doesn't need to fill that gap, they can afford to focus on making one big and exciting game, because DC scratches the high octane, heart pounding speed and competitive, but exaggerated fun itch.
It's not open world of course like Horizon, but at least 2 types of racing are covered.
I am curious to see what the details are when it comes to this game. Hoping for a Gran Turismo that does everything right.
I knew that I'd see Daus and Maxpontiac after clicking on this article!
Do you guys have each other added? Who's the best racer?
HAHA.
I can tell you that daus26 is near or at the top of every leaderboard on GT5 and GT6 out of my friends.
This feels to me like GT's answer for a more arcade-like racer while not giving up it's tradition of being a race simulator with it's normal numbered entries.
Could work really well if the sport version is a build of each of the previous main numbered entries.
Knowing that FIA is collaborating with PDI on this game, I fully expect the game to be even more sim heavy. With that said, arcade options will there for those who prefer it.
