We obviously need to see and hear more but for the time being, Guerrilla Games' new PlayStation 4 exclusive is looking very promising.
For role-playing fans, this could end up being a definitive experience in the current generation. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was definitely a step in the right direction and I imagine Fallout 4 will blow people away, too, but Horizon could be yet another progressive triumph for the genre.
In the latest Official PlayStation Magazine UK (as cited by JStationX ), Horizon senior producer Matt Norris talks about the available weapons and armor, and how they'll be crafted and utilized:
"The weapons are a combination of natural elements found inside the environment and parts from the different machines in Horizon Zero Dawn. You combine them for weapons, ammo and outfits – you can see on Aloy herself the machine parts she uses."
If you didn't already know, Aloy is the name of the female protagonist; the one you saw kicking ass in that unbelievable E3 trailer . Additionally, Guerrilla clarified that grinding won't be an issue, as you can pick up side-quests whenever you wish, as is typical of most any huge open-world game.
Norris finished by saying that Horizon is indeed a role-playing game, which means plenty of loot. So we have lots of loot, side-quests everywhere, crafting and customization, and other great details . It all adds up to what could be one of my favorite RPG experiences ever . I'm totally stoked.

Wow, just saw the trailer. It certainly piqued my interest. Final Fantasy + Terminator + Witcher/Skyrim. Enthralling visuals.
It looks great for sure. Any release date? Optimistically I'd love to add this to next year's well forming line up but realistically are we looking at 2017? How long have Guerilla already being working on this?
I don't think it is going to be an RPG, surely not comperable to Witcher.
Open world rpg and robot dinosours is like the best combination EVER…

Looks awesome! I wanna hear more about this game!
I've never really been a rpg guy. This game never struck me as such. Safe to say this will be my first full fledged jump into the genre. Game is building stream on my hype train
