Sony has released new media and information for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection , along with news of a playable demo.
What we've seen so far is incredible but if that doesn't convince you, go hands-on! They say you'll be able to "see for yourself when a playable demo launches on the PlayStation Store later this summer." Remember, this compilation features the first three games of the series – Drake's Fortune , Among Thieves and Drake's Deception – running in glorious 1080p and 60 frames per second. Plus, we get a new Photo Mode and extra Trophies.
Obviously, it'll be exclusive to PlayStation 4 when it launches on October 7 in North America and two days later in Europe. And even though Naughty Dog isn't directly handling this conversion, don't scoff at Bluepoint Games. They've successfully delivered the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection , so they can handle this.
Lastly, if you snag The Nathan Drake Collection , you will gain access to the multiplayer beta test for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , which is currently set for spring.

I agree with your comment but disagree with it in the same light.
Agree – There are some great games on the PS3 that I wouldn't mind playing on my PS4.
Disagree – Seeing three great PS3 games being made better and sold together for my PS4 is a good thing to some people.
I think for some games backwards compatibility would be a better option. Take GOW3 for instance. The only changes are 1080p and a supposed better frame rate. Well, B/C can upscale to 1080p no problem. Hell the Wii U displays Wii games in 1080p that normally display in 480p. Normally you'd think that wouldn't help but it does. If the Wii U can handle 480p to 1080p conversion, the PS4 should have no problem handling 720p to 1080p conversion.

I like remastered on a whole. I was thrilled to play Ico again last generation! But this seems like we're getting LESS. No multiplayer for UC2 & 3? And some early previews for this game have stated its hard to tell the difference between the original version and remaster. That just tells you all you need to know right there.
Do not support this kind of business. I'd rather rent these games on the Playstation Now service

oh for sure. I'm just not seeing a huge difference in regards to GOW3 ateast.
Honestly, these remasters are starting to give me heart burn. The Last of Us was appropriate given the 60fps and updated graphics were done well and the gameplay was improved by the increased frame rate. There were no new bugs in the game either. I'm playing God of War III remastered now, I'm finding a number of bugs and glitches that didn't exist in the PS3 version. Everything from enemies getting stuck walking in place, to audio being out of sync to characters outright disappearing from scenes. So far the only upside to this port (that's really what it is, hardly a remaster) is the 1080p and photo mode. In all honesty in a game like God of War I can't even tell if the frame rate is improved or not. I'm told God of War III for PS3 was only 30fps but I always thought it was higher. Seems smoother than most games in general. This "remaster" seems to have the same frame rate from what I can tell.
I hope Sony Santa Monica can fix these issues. I also hope this Uncharted collection arrives bug free. If not, it will be the last remaster from Sony that I purchase.

I'm defo skipping that GOWIII remaster. The experience in my memory is good enough as it is.
I believe PS3 GoW3 was unlocked and averaged frames in the mid-40's or something. So yea, it was smoother than a standard locked 30fps game.

Must be a big enough deal to have a demo for a remaster.
Most important is camera mode for catching Chloe's buttocks in various situations.

I think the problem with a lot of these remasters is they're not really much of a remaster but more of a cashgrab quick port for a newer-gen console with some added resolution, and that's about it…
And from what I can see from this u2 video, some resolution improvements are pretty much the only difference I can see, apart from the PS4 footage actually looking a bit too bright and flatter than the PS3 version…
I'd be more interested in what they have (or sadly more likely haven't) done with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, since that's the title that would be by far most in need of a graphical remaster than 2 or 3… but somehow I don't think they've spent the amount of time on it that would be needed for a proper remaster..
This makes perfect sense, let's remaster the old games at 60fps but cap the new game at 30. Yep, nothing wrong with that logic.
One has nothing to do with the other, and yes it does actually make perfect sense. The easiest way to "improve" the original with a remaster is to just increase resolution & frame rate, both can be done without much work from the devs as long as the console is powerful enough to run it, and since these are last gen games that's not a problem.
For new gen games on the other hand it makes perfect sense to keep it at 30fps to keep graphics detail & overall quality as high as possible.
I look forward to this upgrade.
$60 for 3 great games, looking and playing better than ever is worth it.
I also can't help but feel GoW III's remaster is over priced in comparison to this. $30 would've been somewhat acceptable, but $40 and very little bonus content? Umm No way.

as much as i've loved playing them on the ps3 i won't be getting this on the ps4 it more for my mates who didn't have the ps3 or didn't get the unchartered games that this is for which is fine.

Yep i'm with you mate because what's the point in paying for all these remastered games again,if we have them or played them on our old consoles,ok they might look a little better but once i get engrossed in a game i bet i won't even notice,so won't be buying any remastered games,but for the people who never played them for what ever reason then i get it,at least we now know why Sony won't make the PS4 backwards compatible,shame as i really liked that feature on my old day one PS3 that i still have by the way.
