Death’s Gambit: A 2D Open-World RPG Coming To PS4

Yep, we could use more 2D action/RPGs with wonderfully artistic bents.

An alien medieval planet filled with beasts, knights, and various horrors is coming to PlayStation 4, as revealed over at the PlayStation Blog .

It's called Death's Gambit , a "non-linear open-world game" and it'll be available some time next year. Players can expect mammoth bosses (some so big that they might remind us of Shadow of the Colossus ), a deep combat system featuring multiple weapon types, and an intriguing story. If it all comes together, it could be a fantastic RPG experience. The main character is "on the verge of his own demise" when Death offers him a deal…

The old-school retro look also reminds me a little of Ghouls and Ghosts , too, wouldn't you agree?

Definitely getting a Ghouls and ghosts vibe, along with DArk Souls and Castlevania.

This looks amazing.
