Ben-DutkaYup, as promised, Tony Hawk is returning!
The skating legend basically confirmed the existence of a new game some time ago, but now it's official: As unveiled in the new Game Informer , Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year, and PS3 and 360 versions will follow shortly thereafter.
This will be the first original Pro Skater title since THPS4 way back in 2002, so fans of the early games should be thrilled. In development at Robomodo ( Tony Hawk Ride , Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD , etc.), the fifth entry re-adopts the style for which this franchise was so well known. New additions like power-ups and at least one "mission-specific ability that allows you to shoot some kind of projectile" will be included as well.
You'll be able to tackle these missions either solo offline or with others online, and character progress will move back and forth between both segments. Notable skaters include, Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk (Tony Hawk's son), Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds. And of course, Hawk himself.
Can't wait to see some gameplay!

Was hoping it would adopt the analog controls. As awesome as the originals were 15 years ago, the control scheme is now archaic. But I just defended CoDs unwillingness to change so I guess I should shut up.
I'm looking forward to a return to form.
I also really hope there is a split screen option, this is what made the original Tony Hawk games so amazing.
