The Order: 1886 Silent Night Trailer And Countdown Sweepstakes

Can't wait for the hugely promising PlayStation 4 exclusive from Ready at Dawn?

Here's a brief holiday greeting from the developer, which consists of a short Silent Night trailer for The Order: 1886 . It's well worth watching and keeps our excitement high!

And if you missed it, the developer confirms the game's February 20, 2015 launch date, which is great because we lost a few big games out of the first part of next year. Both The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight were supposed to land in February at one time but now, Wild Hunt is set for May and Arkham Knight won't be ready until June. So, having The Order for February makes us all feel a little better.

And don't forget about the 1886 Countdown Sweepstakes: They'll be awarding prizes every 18 hours, 8 minutes and 6 seconds from now until the game's launch. See if you can't be a winner!

Witcher isn't coming till 2016, but I can't wait to experience this. Let's all pray they didn't drop the ball. If it comes of at all generic as the criticism has been then we are screwed in the public eye.

We need another The Last of Us style miracle where a game that does nothing original or creative in gameplay is a huge success due to environments, characters, and the intellectual ignorance of gamers.

Why does a game have to be original to be good? The Last of Us was great because it used familiar mechanics extremely well. In fact that game proved that innovation isn't always good, sometimes it's best to focus on doing things really well.

Of course innovation should be encouraged, but perfecting existing mechanics should be encouraged as well and not seen as a negative.

I can't think of many great blockbuster games that didn't use prior games as stepping stones to their own individualized greatness. I doubt very much TLoU would've been the TLoU were it not for Uncharted that came before.

That was a dumb comment. We get it, you found the last of us bland. Many others did not.

From a gameplay perspective most of my gamer friends were not impressed with TloU gameplay. Story and like everything else was spot on.

It felt like there needed to be more depth to all the systems they had in place in the game. More depth to crafting, hand to hand combat was a bit bland, gunplay felt weird.

I enjoyed the game, but it wasn't the citizen kane of gaming everyone claimed in my honest opinon.

I did enjoy playing it on the hardest mode though.

Well, regardless of what the nay sayers are… naying this thus far is the only game making me to make the plunge in to purchasing a PS4. I still would like a bigger game library with new games, but realize I need to pace my gaemplay a little more. 🙂

Whether or not the games is 90% or 70% good. Its a new IP which I hope that if rough around the edges first out, a sequel might be that much better and refined.

Fingers crossed.

Keep playing!
