Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory Lands NA/EU Release Dates

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch isn't the only JRPG fans should look forward to in 2013.

NIS America has announced that the third entry in the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise will release on March 12, 2013 in North America and a couple days later in Europe.

In Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory , Neptune is back as the "self-aware main character" who meets friends old and new after getting sent back to a bizarre 1980s version of Gamindustri. The developers are promising a "refined and even faster-paced battle system, more dungeons, and more comedy than you can waggle a controller at!" They're even releasing a Neptunia iPhone app that will be available worldwide; the app lets you take pictures with Neptune and Noire or "wake up to their voices."

Here are the game highlights:

Dynamic Combat: Freely move units in battle to tackle foes! Set up your own combos, fill up the EXE Drive gauge, and then deal “massive damage” with your finishing attacks!

Scout System: Send out Scouts to explore and gather information on dungeons! Level them up so they can find things you may have missed on your adventure!

Flag System: Break or repair “flag” triggers in dungeons to activate different events when your Scouts return from exploring! This can change enemy spawns or reveal new items!

Create Game Discs: Obtain blank discs and burn different types of data onto them to access new abilities! With the right combinations, you may even make a Godly Game! It’s your chance to craft your own AAA title for Neptune and her friends to equip!

I've never played the other two iterations but I've read a bit on those and I think those were true blue turn-based RPG or not? Then why change it now? Why can't developers use some sort of Active Time Battle that was on FFX-2, which, my humble opinion, is one of the best turn based system?

Certainly going to own this, but they are more a guilty pleasure than a true return to JRPG greatness.

That said, Mk2 really came through with a fixed battle system so I'll get Victory as well. Glad to have Neptune back, she is a well-written "ditz" character, her sister wasn't any fun. It'll be nice to skin the gals again 🙂

Cannot wait for this, I haven't even got mk2 yet, didn't really like the look of Nepgear. I can't wait to own these. <3 Hyperdimension Neptunia is beautiful.

HNV, consider yourself preordered. Getting the limited edition while I'm at it.
