Sony is trying to push the PlayStation Vita hard and as a result, the new portable's predecessor might disappear faster than anticipated.
According to a Kotaku report , GameStop will be removing PSP games from one-quarter of its stores.
This will occur at the retailer's smallest stores, in order to "maximize the merchandising space," although a GameStop representative made it plain that the remaining locations will "provide a great assortment" of PSP titles. You'll also still be able to find games for Sony's first handheld device at GameStop.com, so feel free to stock up if you've neglected your PSP library. Of course, not a heck of a lot of games released over the past year; Sony was obviously looking forward to the Vita.
After a few really solid years, the PSP has tailed off and this reduction of inventory at GameStop is a clear sign that it is no longer a big seller. Besides, might as well use that extra space for Vita stuff, right?
Meh, most games are available on PSN anyways…shouldn't really be a problem.
exactly why it IS a problem.
there allot more expensive on the store, and theres also no trade ins used games and such.
its too early to send the PSP to the digital graveyard!
"shouldn't really be a problem" unless your old school like me and like to own your games physically.
Mine still has PS2 games in these bin type setups, are we sure this doesn't just mean the stuff on the actual shelves?
Ah who cares they charge too much anyway. Ebay = gamer on gamer love.

My local GS store only has 1 small rinky-dink shelving unit in the center aisleway with only 3 small shelves on each side for PSP titles, with one side being for new games & the other for all the used games.
Plus since there really hasn't been that many new titles over the past year, the used side is the only side I'm always gravitating to.
And I gotta have my collections in their see-able, and touchable, valuable physical form.

sad.
oh well, just $onys way of forcing people to buy their overpriced games on the PSN store!
And so it begins, the great PSP purge…
