The closed beta kicks off today and you should definitely hope for a taste, 'cuz you have to wait a bit longer for the full game.
As announced at the game's official website , Mirror's Edge Catalyst won't make its previously confirmed May 24 date. Instead, the team at DICE needs a few more weeks.
In order to ensure they properly address player feedback from the beta (that's what betas are for, yes?), they're taking a little extra time, which means the release date has been pushed to June 7 for North America and June 9 for Europe. They also say they're utilizing "a brand new online technology" in order to support the Social Play features, so that's another issue.
Well, whatever. We only want a great game and given the sheer number of depressingly unstable titles that land on store shelves (obviously the result of launching too early), we're all the more interested in stability. Ironically, a game that had significant issues when it first launched – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – has an expansion supposedly due out on June 7 as well…a minor scheduling issue for me. 🙁
Is there really a big enough fan base to make this a success? I liked the first one but I'm not seeing a ton of excitement.
No. It didnt sell well because it was not fun at all. I just got into an arguement with a bunch if idiots at another forum for saying this. Heh.
