PlayStation has dropped the final collectible associated to its PlayStation Stars service. The collectible thanks players for the past three years.
The collectible, a literal star symbolizing the service, marks the end after nearly three years. We knew it wasn’t gonna last, especially when Sony themselves announced the program’s closure back in May. Additionally, even when it was around, it was prone to outages and only saw regional rollouts in the middle of 2024. So, even though it was a program for three years, it was really only around for one.
Perhaps this was the big reason behind the closure, it simply wasn’t worth the trouble, on top of the big benefit of points being able to be traded in for discounts on purchases.
