Konami Cancels Coded Arms: Assault

When a game disappears for a long enough stretch, one has to eventually conclude that it just ain't coming. Such is the case for the now-defunct PS3 title, Coded Arms: Assault .

It was supposed to be the sequel to 2005's Coded Arms for the PSP, and it was first unveiled at E3 2006. Those in attendance found that Assault would bring us all kinds of cool weapons, fully destructible environments, and a must for any Internet multiplayer gamer these days, 16-player online matches. The game popped up again that year at the Tokyo Game Show, and it was actually playable. Players could step up and blast through a city level, and while it was still an early build of the game, it certainly showed promise. But after that, we never heard another peep from Konami about their sequel, and 2007 came and went without so much as an update. Now, according to PSU, a Konami representative has confirmed that Coded Arms: Assault is no longer in development.

"There are no current plans to bring Coded Arms: Assault to the PS3 at this time."

We suppose they could bring it to another platform, but there's just no Coded Arms news anywhere. So sorry PS3 gamers, but this one won't be headed to stores; you'll have to make do with other available titles. …we can handle that, right?

While we're on the topic of canceled games, does anyone know what the current status of Rockstar's L.A. Noire is…and please no google or wiki because I already checked that…Thanx

L.A. Noire is cancelled. Can't remember where I read it, think it was EGM. Apparently whatever Rockstar studio sub-division that was developing the game missed several deadlines in a row so Sony pulled funding.

That's a rumor reported on surfergirl.
There was an article about it on this site back in March.

I think what he means is there hasn't been any sort of official announcement that says L.A. Noire has been canceled.

Which means as far as we know, it's still in development.

Take-Two spoke about it recently, and gave it a release frame, too.
