Hey. Stealing is bad.
Earlier today, The Dallas Observer obtained a federal indictment that shows former GameStop vice president of corporate communications and public affairs, Frank Christopher Olivera, embezzled almost $2 million from the world's largest video game retailer.
Apparently, this occurred between July 2009 and April 2011; Olivera shifted the money from GameStop to Cloud Communications, which documents say existed only on paper. It seems Olivera just transferred the money to his own personal bank account, and he has plead guilty to the charge. He could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine…he probably won't care much about that $250k if he gets tossed in jail for a couple decades, but whatever.
These are the types of things that baffle me. Not making enough money as a VP in a major corporation? Really? And what in your tiny little brain makes you think you won't get caught? Seriously?
