We've asked you several times about your feelings concerning the PlayStation Vita, just to get an idea of the "interest progression," so-to-speak.
And it seems like as time goes on, more gamers are coming around to the idea of nabbing Sony's new portable.
In our recent poll, the majority of readers said they'll actually grab the Vita the minute it hits store shelves, while the second-highest group said they'd likely purchase it at some point. Considering that we don't have a huge audience of handheld followers and the fact that many believe mobile gaming will hurt the Vita, this is impressive. I'm not a portable fan myself but I have to admit, I really want to try titles like Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Wipeout 2048 .
This week, it's all about Batman: Arkham City . Early reviews are glowing and those who adored Arkham Asylum are bound to snag Rocksteady's new title on Tuesday. Are you one of the guaranteed buyers? Or did you miss out on the first Batman gem and aren't quite sold on the concept? Personally, I'm not big into superhero stuff but then again, I imagine it'll be tough to put down. Review coming soon!
Vita actually ruined my plan to get the Xperia Play, why would I get a gaming phone when I'm getting a new handheld?
I'll pick up the vita but prolly the 2nd gen or 3rd. I mean I know its going to be amazing, I just don't have luck on any day one system purchases. Plus you know sony will release a vita that is 4g.
Can't wait for the review. I never finished AA but i'm going to give AC a go. I have it reserved.
As for the Vita, that baby is mines. Does anyone know if Golden Abyss will be a same day launch title?
I wanting it definitely, but I'm going to do the responsible thing and wait and see the reviews for the systems and games first. My brother let me know just the day before last he was pre-ordering Batman Arkham City so that's one less title I have to part money with, makes me a happy Mell.
The Vita will score mid 9s and the games will range from 6-mid 9s.
BUY IT
I'm sold, lol.
As I've said before I'll get a vita when the japanese developed games are released in the u.s.
Batman Arkham City is day one without a doubt.
Passing on Arkham City, not really my thing but maybe if I ever get a superhero itch that doesn't include inFamous (preordered Festival of Blood). Did they run out of review copies on you too Ben?
I don't care for handhelds, so I'll pass on the Vita. I wish it well, but I truly wish that all if these great sounding exclusives will eventually find their way to the PS3.
As a huge Batman fan, I'm expecting to love AC even more than I did AA, which was considerable. I'm pretty backlogged right now on pc games, but I'll definitely get this, maybe for Christmas.
Only thing I wish was different would be a section where Superman shows up, so that Batman could pull out his oversized kryptonite boxing gloves from DKSA and go to town. Now THAT would warrant a day one purchase.
Already pre-ordered Batman, so D1P for me
I won't be getting a Vita simply because I'm not into handheld gaming. It was cool back when I was a kid (GameGear ftw), but, these days, I can't find a reason to indulge in it. When I'm at home I have PS3 and various other superior options, when I'm at work..yeah let's not get fired, and when I'm out-and-about I have a Kindle to read, which doesn't have battery/glare/sound concerns. I just can't justify a portable gaming device any more.
As for Batman, less to the game than to my life situation, I won't be picking it up any time soon. I'm trying to hunker down and save for the future–a house, a car, etc–while I currently have limited financial responsibilities. Blowing it all on new games doesn't fit in to that picture. Hell, I still haven't playing AA. I'll get around to both eventually, though. At this point, I can only see myself day-1'ing The Last Guardian, and probably Ni no Kuni (and Mirror's Edge 2). Plus I have a couple hundred games to finish, any way. So, priorities, yeah.
Well as for sound concern O_O ever heard of headphones 😛 Also 4-5 hours of on-the-go gaming is plenty of a lifetime for one day. Guess that just leaves the glare thing. But wait till it is out to see the magnificent 5inch screen :D.
Vita will also be about continuing some games you were playing on your PS3 on-the-go. Plus it is also linked to your PS account and has trophy support! 🙂 You might also want to listen to music or watch movies or tv shows from time to time too.
You can keep the kindle for some *before bed* reading 😛

PSVita shall be for the honeymoon period, travelling and helping me get to sleep (curiously, handheld gaming is one of very few things that works). I'll probably get one early, and hopefully it'll last me the duration of its lifespan, providing me with hundreds of hours of faithful service, much as my PSP has already done.
As for Arkham City, I was never going to get it Day One, but now I'm not sure that I'll get it at all. I think that I'll eventually overcome the anger at what I perceive to be nothing more with the locking out of SP content… but I dunno. I've raved enough on this topic though.
I can't wait for the Vita. The thought of having a near PS3 experience on the go has got me super excited.

Vita is going to be great. I am however going to have to wait. I am just to in love with gaming on the big screen.
Batman AC is going to be a 10 on this site. I also found a great deal at KMart! Buy it in store between 10/18-22 and receive a $30 gaming credit towards your next game!! BF3 or U3 anyone?!!! That is a phenomenal deal. I know I will be waiting outside as they open the doors. 🙂
Yep, because of the Kmart deal, I'm getting Batman day one, as well. Also, getting R&C:All 4 One, as it will be coming with a game credit coupon, too (worth $20 rather than the $30 that comes with Batman).
I have $60 worth of Kmart game credit coupons anyways, and I'll be using the $50 coupons from tomorrow for Uncharted on 11-1-11. Win, win, win.
