Bayonetta To Run At A Sleek 60FPS On Both PS3 And Xbox 360

Although it won't be available until 2010, it remains one of our most anticipated titles of the generation. With Devil May Cry designer Hideki Kamiya at the helm and Platinum Games keeping us updated on a continual basis, we're always salivating over Bayonetta . …the game, not the chick. Really.  Seriously.

Any way, you may recall back in 2007, when Madden NFL 08 really ticked off PlayStation 3 owners: the game would run at 60 frames per second on the Xbox 360, but at a paltry 30fps on the PS3. Now, this wasn't entirely uncommon in the early days of the PS3, but as we've been saying all year, those days are long gone. And the good news concerning the ultra-fast-paced Bayonetta is that it will run at a silky smooth 60fps on both consoles in question. You can check out the video preview if you wish, and if you're not excited by the time it's over, you're no fan of action games. There's a trailer on the PSN and we also have a few videos over in our PS3 videos section , so feel free to brush up on your Bayonetta IQ. The heroine is a sultry, sexy version of Dante and as you'll see in most any video you watch, the attitude reminiscent of the critically acclaimed DMC franchise is always there. We just love the look and style of this one, and the gameplay appears to be fantastic .  Did you see the boss fight in that video?!

And it'll certainly help that both PS3 and 360 owners will be getting mostly identical versions of the game. The only question left is, which controller do you prefer? Well, I for one…

60 fps is pretty impressive, and pretty. Although I'm on the fence about this title it sounds promising. A 2010 release date sounds better, it gives me more time to decide if I want to buy. I couldn't imagine trying to play any 3rd person game on a clunky 360 controller.

I'm sorry, but if you think you can be successful mashing random buttons in any DMC game, you've never played them.

Awesome! I was very disappointed it moved to 2010.

I think Sega did that after Valkyria did poorly on release. Unfortunately I think Bayonetta may suffer a similar launch since so many games have moved to that time frame. I will definitely buy it though.

I'm still not sure about this one. Even though the action looks amazing, one of the problems I've had with DMC is probably the same as what I'll have with Bayonetta. the "cheesy, over the top characters" tend to make me lose interest in games sooner. I got tired of Dante in DMC and Nero was just another version of him, so I got tired of DMC4 pretty quick too. Something tells me I'll get tired of DMC with Boobs to, but I'll probably rent it first and see what I think. If I take it back and still want to keep playing it, then I'll buy it. Maybe.

indeed, it's more symmetric and simple than most controllers. Reminds me of an SNES controller (best design imo)

What?! thumbs down for giving praise to the Dualshock thats really sad (;_;)

I'll always prefer the Dualshock, wish the PS3 Dualshock was more heavy and maybe the triggers could be a lil bit better

I'm looking forward to it, but I hope the release isn't going to conflict with White Knight, GOW III, or FF XIII.. or the million other titles coming out in early 2010.

"..we're always salivating over Bayonetta. …the game, not the chick. Really. Seriously." — I salivate for both. lol

This game is one of my most wanted Action/Adventure games this gen so far, the other two are: GOW3 and The Last Guardian

I don't think it's fair some of you are judging this game based on DMC. The director is responsible for two of the most well-recieved games in gaming: DMC1 and Okami. The original DMC is still regarded as the best in the series. Also, if you have to call DMC a button masher you for sure have to give GOW the same criticisms.

Difference is, DMC is NOT a button masher as you get punished in your stats for doing so. You should see some higher level players on youtube who can finish the games on the hardest difficulty. Sure button mashing can get you through the game on Normal, but try Dante must Die and I assure you, you will get nowhere. Personally, I find mastering the techniques is far more satisfying than anything that can be done in other action games. But that's just my opinion, and I won't condemn you guys for having your own.

I trust this game will be a sleeper hit; it is in very capable hands.

I'm interested in it but I still want to have a go with the gameplay first. I don't know what it is about this game that has me interested but I'm not quite over the "hump" on my opinion. I guess I'm a "doubting Thomas". I'll believe it once I try it. Keep hope alive!

come on ben, a hot chick with guns connected to her feet dressed in tight black leather.
if your not salving over her theres something seriously wrong 😀
i remember the motor show last year, my mate went up to these 2 booth babes for lotus and asked them how much Vaseline they used to get those suits on, than they both laughed and offered a pick in the car with him.
lucky ….. i cant believe some of the things he says, hes not shy of anything.
next he will be asking to go back stage for a 1 on 1 test drive.
