It's Thursday, the now-traditional update day for the PlayStation Network, and the third DLC pack for Killzone 2 – Napalm & Cordite – is now available for download.
But this will mark the end of DLC for a little while, as it appears that Guerrilla plans to "step back" and take a breather. According to what Producer Seb Downie said over at the European PlayStation Blog , the team wants to sit back and take a gander at the industry landscape. Said Downie:
"Right now we’re going to take a step back from Killzone 2. We’ve been working non-stop since the disc version was released on patches, DLC and http://www.killzone.com updates, so need some time to reflect on what is actually out there."
Now, this may mark the end of all DLC for KZ2, or it just might be Guerrilla trying to snag some much-deserved downtime. These days, we all have to remember that the process of game development doesn't end with the launch of the title; the advent of downloadable content has expanded the work week, so-to-speak. But what is more interesting about Downie's comment is that when he says they want to see "what is actually out there," that may indicate a shift in the team's direction… We're all anticipating Killzone 3 , but might Guerrilla try something new?
Anyway, talk on that if you wish, and remember that if you haven't snagged any of the three DLC packs for KZ2 yet, Sony will soon release a Map Pack Bundle that will feature all of 'em. We'll let you know when there's a date and price attached to the package.

Nice. I almost bought the 1st two last night. I'll wait for the bundle.
I already bought the first two, so no use getting the bundle now.. haha
Guess I'll finish it off, and get the third DLC.
I don't see why people complain that $6 is expensive. It's the price of a burger and a drink… not like it's gonna make you broke anytime soon. I get more entertainment value from any DLC maps than a $12 movie, so I don't see what the problem is…
Agreed, though a $12 movie is a total rip-off. You can freaking BUY it on DVD for that price.
Same here Jawknee…I've been wanting the first one since it came out, but patience is a virtue 🙂

I'll get the bundle when it comes out. Love this game!!
The bundle will be available with today's update and it's priced 12.
It was announced yesterday on the official blog.
Nice. Saved 6 bucks by waiting.
Fair enough, they deserve a nice break. Gotta get the 3rd pack!
Will get as soon as I finish surfing. Got the other two already.
Great news. I almost bought all 3 separate.
Guerilla deserves a lil' rest after a job well done.
Aye they deserve a well earned rest after that Guerilla should come up with a new incredible ip
Killzone 3? Nah jk. I feel as if Killzone 2 could last 7 years. I haven't played the game, but I've seen people and friends play it. All I can see on their face is intensity and just how much they are connected with the game (at that moment).
It's amazing.
Anyway, pretty awesome stuff for Guerilla.
Guerilla needs a break they have done nothing but get new patches and dlc for this game released and they have given almost everything the community has asked for. Its kinda sad really since a lot of people still complain about a game that is so good and I think that Guerrilla's work is a little underappreciated.
I will definately be getting the third dlc today when the store updates. See you guys in warzone!
Yup, gotta go for the bundle. Patience pays off yet again. Take your break GG, then come back guns blazing!
I thought for sure they were trying to be the game with those most available trophies..Burnout still beats them. After getting platinum over the weekend, I'm looking forward to trying out these new maps.
Man, it is going to be hard going back to floating guns after this game.
But they have the glowing red eyes! Why would they want to try something new? When you have light sabers you make Star Wars. When you have glowing red eyes you make Killzone!
MAN! its been awhile since I've post on here…been reading everyday tho. Anyway I'm definantely gettin the new map pack. Hopefully they add more badges to the mix though. I'm tired of being maxed out.
