Bethesda: Extra Skyrim Content “Will Be Coming To PS3”

As we all know, the PlayStation 3 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has yet to receive any downloadable content.

Bethesda is supposedly working on this issue with Sony, although a lot of PS3 owners don't seem to be holding their breaths. At this point, it almost seems like after-the-fact…not enough people will care when that DLC finally arrives.

But that doesn't mean Bethesda isn't trying. Pete Hines took to Twitter to respond to someone reminding him that there's a petition concerning Skyrim DLC for the PS3. It's vague (whcih is really nothing new) but here's the update:

"Yes. We continue to work on it. And content will be coming to PS3. Will give details when I have them."

Well, thanks, Pete. But at this rate, we'd almost be more interested in hearing about The Elder Scrolls VI . At the very least, PS3 owners will be getting DLC for Bethesda's recently published title, Dishonored ; the first DLC pack hits the PS3, 360 and PC simultaneously on December 11 . Of course, that was handled by developer Arkane Studios, so…

I know they are trying their hardest on this one since they didn't develop on the ps3 console. But still, there's no excuse to this. I mean don't get me wrong, if they finally release the dlc for ps3, I will get it. For ps3 owners though to trust in a game company to deliver new content to that consumer but end up not delivering is unacceptable. I really think they should be ashamed of themselves. That is poor customer service..

I don't know why they had so many problems.
Sure they started on the 360 first, but after 5+ years they should be able to catch up.

Only other thing is that the ps3 has like 6mbs less ram available to developers, but 6mbs….

There are plenty of free roam games that work fine on the ps3, I just don't get the problem.

I almost feel like they just don't care. They already had the sales and they weren't expecting good dlc sales on the ps3 because of the deal with microsoft.

I give em credit for the continued effort, but it better be FREE! Or Atleast at a discounted bundled price!

A discounted bundle is a good idea.

And that bundle should be titled "The We're Sorry' Pack"'

… I'm assuming that the DLC is at least in a workable state then, if he's PROMISING that it is coming?
Eh, just end your development of it and give us a look at Fallout: New Algonquian for Q1 2014 on next-gen consoles at the VGAs, yeah?

Hopefully they are working on fixing the actual game as well! The game still locks up every time you go into water. My step-son is playing Skyrim right now and had to hard reset my PS3 4 times yesterday. It's ridiculous that after a whole year there are still game freezing bugs in such a AAA high profile game.

Absolutely unacceptable and Bethesda should really be looking at their business practices and workforce to see where they are failing and fix it before their next project. I know it's weird and maybe crazy but it is possible to create a game on the PS3 that actually works and works very well.

CrusaderForever, there's a fix for that. Don't give up! I had that same issue and stopped playing it, then remembered there's probably something about this on the interwebs. I googled it and there's a fix. Check it out. It worked for me. It's something like deleting the game data BUT NOT the game save data. You delete the updates and re-download them and it worked fine.

I'm in a glass case of emotion right now…

Hilarious!!!! I was just Googling this problem and found a fix! Delete "Skyrim" and delete " Skyrim Update" and start Skyrim again to have it install the updates again. This fixes the water freezing. Now that's cool, just get the DLC on the PS3 and I am good. Thanks Highlightreel, I appreciate your post 🙂

There are very few d1p's for me out there these days. Because I'm always in the middle of some game or another when game's I'd like come out, I never really get out to buying them right away.

Skyrim's PS3 issues really started to make waves before I had the chance to buy it. So I never got it. Since I don't feel all that bad about it, I might wait in hopes they eventually release a GOTY edition that will include all the dlc…

This is great and depending on the price I may get it. BUT I still feel like too little too late. I've moved on.

Here's a hopefully ridiculous thought: So they will finally release this content and it won't sell very well compared to if it were released on schedule and Bethesda will look at the numbers and say, well see, it's justified to focus on m$ b/c look at the % of who bought the dlc on the systems.

Now that is just plain stupid and narrowminded…but isn't that what they've proved to us about the ps3?

Stay Classy PSX…

I'm sure Bethesda will sell Skyrim DLC for the PS3, but not nearly as much as they would have six months ago. People have moved on.

PS3 gamers should instead be playing Dark Souls for their RPG fix. It's been out over a year, yet the community is still as strong as ever.

Well maybe the extra PS3 work will do them good.

As much as it pains me to admit… I will be buying the GOTY edition IF, and that is a big IF the issues are all worked out.

Meh No interest for me now. Sold my PS3 version got the one on Steam for PC instead. Less buggy ( especially with mod community, they fix problems better than Bethesda themselves!) The way PS3 owners were treated by Bethesda as 3rd class citizens has worsened my opinion of them. Yes PS3 has some hurdles when comes to programming but way it was handled could have been more professional. Maybe it was |Microsoft pulling the strings behind the scenes?

Yep. MS told them to deliver a shoddy product to PS3 players and since Bethesda would rather listen to MS instead of alienating a good number of customers, they obliged. MS also asked Bethesda brass to kick some newborn puppies and, of course, they did so willingly.
