I was in the band. Yeah, that's right. But we didn't do anything like this, damnit.
During halftime at the Ohio State/Nebraska game over the weekend, the OSU marching band put on a great show…especially for gamers. Even if you aren't a football or band fan, you have to appreciate something like this.
The band paid tribute to a variety of popular gaming franchises, including Mario , Halo , Zelda , Pac-Man , and Tetris . It's really well done and if you're prone to being nostalgic, this could very well bring a tear to your eye. By the way, it's interesting to note that OSU is one of the very few bands that boasts only brass and percussion; they've got 225 members in total, though, so they put on quite a show.
Thanks, BikerSaint!
As a gamer and former band nerd, this is amazing! As a Michigan fan… well, that's to be expected, isn't it?

me = also a band nerd/gamer/athlete.
This was fun to watch. 🙂
Great choreography. I never had any musical talent, sadly I'm tone deaf.
That was pretty impressive. Thanks for sharing this BikerSaint and PSXE.
hey, i was at the game!
I was there too! So glad I chose to go to this game instead of the UofI game. My dad and I seldom bond/agree on anything but it was a great experience explaining all the videogames/characters on display.
O-H!
Holy crap I was blown away! That was fantastic! I wonder how many hours went into practicing that! The part with Epona (the horse) especially blew me away.
That was great! Thanks Bikersaint!
Just saw this when a friend shared it on Facebook. What an awesome show.
I'm with you Ben. High School and then Marist College Marching band was a lot of fun. It's always impressive to check out the bigger schools' shows.
There's a reason they're called "The Best Damn Band in the Land".
Thanks for the shout-out Ben & peeps!
I'm not into marching bands, but damn if watching them didn't give me chills & an extra sense of pride of being a life-long gamer.
So I just knew I had to also pass it along for the rest of the gamers here to enjoy too.
To dlte & LV,
Heck, if I got chills just watching the vid version, I can't imagine how you felt seeing it all go down before your eyes in real life.
Color me green with envy, LOL.

My dad went to Ohio State and has always enjoyed their band so I can't tell you enough how special it was to stand next to him and explain what everything was (though he did get tetris). Plus it was a great game in what I consider the best football stadium.
Pretty neat. Doesn't make me hate their football team any less, though. 🙂
Watching Michigan's flag coming down was great! OSU definately has one hell of a marching band.
