PSXE Poll Update: GTAV Will Hit Next Spring Or Summer

It seems less and less likely that Grand Theft Auto V will launch this year, and some are thinking we might have to wait until later next year.

But what do gamers think? Well, the PSXE readership believes one of the most anticipated titles of the generation will be ready to go next spring or summer, which is probably a little later than initially anticipated.

It's also interesting to note that the second-largest vote-getting category was "not until the end of 2013," which implies that a good many fans are a little skeptical about the current state of development progress. Hearing little from Rockstar or Take-Two on that score may have taken its toll. Further, don't forget that another of Take-Two's huge projects, Bioshock Infinite , may (or may not) have hit a few roadblocks, depending on what you choose to believe. For our part, we just want both. Soon.

This week, we'll give you a bit more time with Darksiders II and Sleeping Dogs before we run a user review contest focusing on those two great titles. You're more than welcome to submit an analysis before the contest starts, of course; it'll be eligible. But in the meantime, we want to know what your most anticipated game of the fall is…and yes, you can only pick one. Sorry.

That list looks pretty meh to me when RE6 is my most anticipated.

I like DOA5 and have it preordered but I'm not a fighting fan like I use to be. I also have AC3 preordered but because the series is an annual event it isn't as anticipated as RE6.

I thought the exact same thing as you. Nothing this fall to really get my panties in a bunch about (although I'll play and probably enjoy at least half of them).

Next year on the other hand…

Well, I have a feeling 'Assassin's Creed III' may end up being my personal Game of the Year, but the title I'm looking forward to the most is definitely 'Hitman: Absolution.'
I've been a fan for a long time (I loved the whole series before the first 'Assassin's Creed' even came out!), and it's been far too long since I've had a new adventure in that world.

GTAV is probably a long ways off still. Weve heard next to nothing for a while and what we have heard didn't do much but build anticipation. So I'm not really anxious for it yet.

If I had to choose one game off that list it would be AC3. I've really become a fan and it looks really good. I'm glad Ubisoft listens to their fans and Really puts forth an effort to make these games better with each release. But if Bioshock were releasing this fall it might be a different story.

Of course I might be a little biased towards my vote for ACIII, seeing how I reached into my backlog of games & that I've been playing nothing but
AC,
AC:Bloodlines(PSP),
ACII,
AC:Brotherhood, AC:Revelations.

Along with watching… AC:Ascendance
AC:Linage.

OH, and also dabbling a bit with AC:Project Legacy(on Facebook).

GTA is on the verge of falling out of relevance and public consciousness at this rate.

You can probably tell what game I'm stoked for by my avatar, but it looks like ACIII is going to get the nod from the community.

Guys, can GTA be as friendly as mature shooting games? I know it's going to be a mature game, but are all the super mature content beside shooting and killing, enforced through the game's main progress. The kids can the handle violence and are thought well. It's the other mature stuff I'm worried about.

I hear that it's a game where you can choose to be good or bad. I never played one and just want to finally get into the GTA series because I love sandbox games and this is obviously a major AAA title. I just don't know how far the maturity level goes in this game. If certain things are unavoidable then I'm staying away.

There's plenty of violence in the story but if you choose to you can also run your car over crowds, commit mass murder by shooting up innocent citizens in the city, and have epic shootouts with the police.

I wish the polls had "None of the above" or "I don't care" options.

It's odd that some mindless types hate the idea, as though the polls could NEVER be flawed.

I don't think that it's specifically in the fall season, I'm always turned about with the seasons, but my most anticipated game of the remainder of the year is XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It's something comparatively fresh, but it's closely followed by Hitman. Mildly interested in the two ACIII games and Dishonored, but I don't think that I'll be getting any of them on or necessarily near release.

R* seems to like releasing their games in may lately so i cant see that changing for GTAV.
gives bioshock infinite enough room to breathe, and they dont want it too late because they need something to bring in the sales for their early FY.

as for my most anticipated title of the year id have to go with 4.
far cry 3, dishonoured, forza horizon and of course halo 4.
far cry 3 because it does what VERY few games do this gen!
picks you up, puts you in a absolutely beautiful world and says the world is your oyster do what you please!
so many games put you on a leash, and really restrict you in what you can do and also where you can go.
not to mention having NO humor or personality what so ever!
FC3 is the complete opposite, the antidote, to the poison that is destroying this industry!
dishonoured for pretty much the same base reason, its so unique and different!
its a distinctly eastern game which we dont get much of, and its got a real steampunk theme to it another thing we rarely get.
not to mention you can play how you want, be it bad a$$ ripping sh*t apart, the cool assassin stabbing peoples back, or the politic talking your way out of everything.
again the world is your oyster!
forza horizon simply because, well, who doesnt want a open world game with sim handling and a real love for cars!?
i just hope the autovista mode is back, i spent oh so many hours just staring at the cars and listening to JCs rambles.
thats one thing that has always made forza better than GT!
you can actually sense the developers love for cars, not their love for racing!
theres so much crap you can do with them its really cool to be able to just enjoy them, not only racing on a track like GT.
again its personality over sterility.
as for halo 4, come on i dont need to explain that one!
im really intrigued to see how 343s take on it will differ from bungie, and judging by the E3 demo it will be very different and very awesome!
a much needed shake up for the franchise!
cant believe im saying this, but im actually glad bungie left!
blasphemy!!!!!

I'm not as hyped as most people about GTA V. It will no doubt be epic but my mind is on games like TTT2, DOA5, Resi Evil 6 & Hitman Absolution.
