Developer Auroch Digital and Devolver Digital’s Big Fan publishing label have officially announced Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, the explosive sequel to the 2023 DOOM-inspired “boomer shooter” that took fans by surprise with its retro visuals and relentless action. Returning to the front lines is the unstoppable Space Marine Malum Caedo, once again locked and loaded to purge the galaxy of heretics. This time, players will battle through all-new, “never-before-seen” locations across the grimdark Warhammer 40K universe, promising even more intense and brutal encounters.
Boltgun 2 doubles down on the fast-paced chaos of the original, featuring an expanded arsenal of devastating weapons, new abilities, and a fresh lineup of foes including Nurglings, Chaos Cultists, Bloodletters, and Juggernauts. If the first game delivered heavy-metal mayhem in pixelated form, the sequel looks to crank the volume even higher.
The game is set to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While it’s still a ways off, fans of old-school shooters and Warhammer’s signature over-the-top violence should definitely keep this one on their radar.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Emperor’s will prepares to be unleashed once again.
