Capcom was kicking around the idea of Resident Evil Requiem as an open world with multiplayer elements. Of course, it was pulled back and it’s right at home as a single player linear experience.
While many latched onto first looks at the title’s gameplay, it was also found out that the dev had tried to cobble together an open world, with post-nuked Raccoon City as its setting. In the end, though, the team decided it wasn’t what fans wanted and “went back to the drawing board.”
Now, they are changing some things up, considering Requiem is a rare Resident Evil game set in urban area. Oh yeah, and you can change your perspective.
