Well, coming out of left field and very much under the heading "SayWhaNow!?" is news that this remaster will only be available to buyers of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition
Yes, you read that right. Only buyers of the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare will get the remastered Call of Duty 4. People have speculated that this remaster is nothing more than a cynical cash grab by Activision.
Perhaps the picture is clearer now. It seems that in order to drive some of the sales of the new Infinite Warfare title, Activision has elected to include an exclusive that many Call of Duty fans will have a hard time resisting.
We can't help feeling that the remastered game will eventually see a stand alone release, although Activision is certainly large enough and rich enough to resist the temptation to release what appears to be a very expensive and very exclusive bonus. Still, it certainly seems an odd way to bring what is likely to be a very popular remaster to the market.

probably later rather than sooner. Like "Rise of the Tomber Raider" on PS4 later.
This is why you don't preorder. At some point after release it'll be sold as a stand alone title.
I saw someone on facebook that created petition, stating Activision please make COD4 standalone.
What if the remastered version of CoD4 ultimately arrives on PSN as a digital release for $25 or $30?
on the amazon listing for legacy edition, it states campaign + 10 mp maps

Heard a twitch streamer comment that multiplayers maps will be dlc. Take that for what you want.
Defo a cash grab and will make people buy the new cod just to get it. Sucks for them because I would have paid 40 quid for the remastered cod4. But I simply dont want the new cod.

Yea I guess I won't be getting it then. No way I'm paying $80 for two games, one of which I won't touch. If this is ever released on PSN for $40 I'll gladly buy it. But not like this.

Yeah saw that. I dont always believe what they say, and I only caught the tail end of the conversation, but they were discussing the mutliplayer and talking about how the "best" maps were set up for DLC. To clarify it a bit.
Isn't it wonderful when companies do this, and then fans go online and say to you "Hey man, you don't understand business."
I wish we could free High Moon Studios from Activision's evil grip.

One of my friends has said that Activision have said that they are going to release 5 more maps at a later date. So that will be 15.
I think like other HD remasters they should include all the DLC. As this is money grabbing gits Activision I used to like them back in the day before they became greedy back in the Commodore 64 and Speccy days they used to be a good maker of games.
I shall not be buying this. I will scour the net for a 2nd hand pre-owned copy or refuse to buy it at all.

I understand that they are remaking the COD4 story mode, but are they also revamping the COD4 multiplayer and releasing that too?

I wish High Moon would finally make a next gen sequel to Transformers War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron. Oh hell yes….no more movie spinoff games or 80's remakes….damnit!!!lol

If it was free then fine, but as far as I can tell the legacy edition difference vs regular is cod4, so where in the UK it's £55 for the normal version, the legacy is £80.
I really do want it, but it's sad to pay £80 for cod4, because I probably won't play INF cod much at all.
I think they know Infinite Warfare will suck and are trying to stack up their preorder numbers.
I really really really want this game and would be willing to spend $60 on it plus the $15 for the dlc, so essentially buying it again. But it's tied up to a game I know I don't want for $80 and only includes 10 maps? I bet dollars to doughnuts they sell the other 10 maps in two dlc packs for $15 a piece in addition to the $60 worth of dlc IW will have.
