It's not what you want to hear but really, when it comes to massive open-world games, you almost have to expect such problems.
It's too bad they have to exist at all, though.
Despite a general outpouring of praise for CD Projekt Red's ambitious RPG, many gamers are reporting a myriad of bugs and glitches. You can see a summary of those complaints at The Games Cabin : One bug is especially nasty and won't even let you start playing; after the cinematic intro, players encounter an endless loading screen. Even rebooting doesn't seem to fix the issue.
Then there's a bug that halts your progress during the initial training period (as you can see in the YouTube vid through the link above). As for those who want to get involved in the cool card game, Gwent, there's a problem there as well: Some are saying that when prompted to press the Triangle button, the game doesn't respond or just plain crashes.
The game almost froze solid on me during a cut-scene-to-gameplay transition. Any issues on your end?
Related Game(s): The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Shockingly, no. I've had a few crashes (once when I played a card game and the second when I parried some soldier) and thats about it. Save for some hilarious climbing animation glitches. I was walking up a guard tower, and he was in the climbing animation the entire time until I reached the top. Funny stuff.
In the short time I've played I've only seen some minor performance issues. Not sure if I'd call those bugs.
So wasn't this game delayed like 2 months to fix most of these bugs? It would seem this game may have needed to launch in the Fall or something. The wait is always worth a more finished stable product.

Geralt over steers when turning. I hope they fix that.
yeah this game is just like Two Worlds II!
Oh? They step too much into the turn too?
Does it also have strong perspective distortion ? Like a world being viewed through a cell phone camera lens? Castlevania LoS did the same thing.
that dang hud. I tried to adjust it but it was already set on large (which is still too small) or you can move positioning. But there's nothing to make the stuff bigger.
I sort wish I had this for PC.
Indeed, it makes me nostalgic. All the Witcher needs now is intense motion blur 🙂

I knew I wasn't the only one.
The tiny text is RIDICULOUS. Do they think everyone sits a foot from their screens?
Ha, I'm glad you agree Ben. I'm not one to complain about this kind of thing and I sorta always thought those who do were exaggerating. But this is for real by me. It doesn't help that the UI is also really dark.
While I'm sure this is perfect for computer monitor guys, I really hope they update it to accommodate us guys who play from our couch.

I've played about 6-7 hours now and I've noticed some frame rate dips and minor glitches but nothing game breaking.
Dropped frames is just a limitation and why PC is a beacon, forever out of reach.
I like a few flaws in my b*tches, gives em character.
Yeah, but the console version is basically the same experience, except I have about an extra thousand dollars that I didn't spend on a gaming rig.
Nothing wrong on my end! Even won my first card game. But a friend messaged me saying it was loading forever for him.
This topic aside, who else was moved by the "Thank You" note inside the game?
I won my first card game too and I did appreciate the thank you card along with the manual, the map, the soundtrack, the stickers and the codes for the comic.
Got to admit, I was a little moved by the note. As silly as it it, it was really cool to get all that extra stuff tes37 mentions. Makes me feel my money was well spent even before I popped the game in. What's crazy is that we used to always get at least a paper copy of the manual. Just to compare I checked the contents of my Diablo 3 game, it only contains one piece of paper.
Now companies seem to be like:
"Hey, you bought half our game, the rest is hidden in dlc coming later and on the store in stuff you have to buy. We don't really care if you like it or not cuz we're rich and you are a lowly gaming nerd who is a b*tch for complaining about anything because we are just a business."
That's sound like Ubisoft and EA…
I experienced the never ending load screen after the intro. I deleted the game and reloaded it without the patch and it worked. I installed the update after making it to White Orchard and so far so good.
That loading screen thing is an easy fix. Uninstall the game reinstall and bam you are good to go. I just walked a friend through it about 2 hours ago. She's playing just fine on her PS4.
Played for about two hours. No issues here. Great game so far.
Some people have issues but some people don't, weird…
No issues my end. One graphical glitch Geralt got pushed and his feet never moved after I was talking to someone outside. As they walked off his kegs didn't move and he floated over the ground a yard but didn't break the game.

Im glad i havent picked up my copy and all of theses reports makes me wanna wait now till a game of the year version is released. With all the DLC and Patches ready to go.
Witcher 3 is not badly broken bro, it's normal for big open world game to have some glitch and bug, probably CDRP is working on patch right now…
Another big world game with similar issues was Skyrim that got a Game of the Year Edition that didn't fix much, but still it was playable, if you are interested on The Witcher you should get it now, just like Bloodborne it's a 9+ game.

As much as i want this game i think i will wait until they release a patch that smooths things out abit better, nothing worse then buying something new only for it to freeze or hang during the loading screen just as you're getting into it. I remember having to deal with this during Fallout 3 and i could never properly enjoy the game because of the known niggles that plagued alot of peoples experiences.
Usually when the dev teams get a whiff of reports like this they address it within a few days so i am okay to wait abit longer until they iron these out or atleast enough for me not to worry about it.

There was a day 1 patch, a lot of people probably opted to play before installing it out of excitement.
I had the Gwent bug happen to me. All I did was unplug my PS4 and restarted the game and guess what? No problems since.
well thats a bit of a bummer then aye well i think they have fixed a bunch of them at the moment on me writing this comment but props where probs are due this is a really good game from what i've gathered
happy gaming
