It was the only significant drawback in Deus Ex: Human Revolution .
The boss fights got a lot of flak for not allowing stealth-oriented players to succeed. It didn't help that these boss fights were actually developed out-of-studio, which made them feel jarring and decidedly out-of-sync with the rest of the game.

Game Director Jean-François Dugas held a Twitter Q&A last week, and answered the question, "would the game be ghostable?" I still remember fighting the big guy and being so confused. My silenced pistol, and dart sniper vs a Give Me Deus Ex difficulty boss who was constantly shooting at me… It was a tough fight. I'm glad they know not to do that non-sense anymore. This games going to be freaking fantastic.

I'm just SO ready for a new Jensen adventure!
Good move, I'm glad they listened to people's complaints about the bosses in HR.
