That's the gist of Sony's message to all virtual reality skeptics, as some gamers aren't too enamored with the idea of strapping a device to their heads.
During a recent Gamelab conference in Barcelona (see some footage of it here ), Sony President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida says the experience is just "amazingly different," and you'll "want to come back to this place that is not where you are." He said despite your reservations, it's important to realize that this new technology thrives on the concept of "presence," which is basically "the feeling and the belief that all your senses believe you are in a different place.
And it goes beyond gameplay, too. Yoshida mentioned that the Project Morpheus VR initiative can bring you anywhere, from Barcelona (maybe you can't afford the flights) to Mars. It's just a matter of letting your mind free…
Sounds very "Matrix"-like to me.
I don't have a problem with strapping something to my head; I just dislike having to jump through the hoops known as motion monitoring play. In the end, the kinect, pseye, and wii/u all annoy me. If VR required such things, then I'm out. If the price is equivalent to a vita, then vita it is.
I'm not yawning over this tech; it's a great leap forward for in home VR. It's just not likely that I'll tear my living room apart to submerge myself into VR.

I'd read it World. I'd say go for it.
I'd say itd be more philosophical than anything else. I just want to reach the right crowd with it where I publish.
When I think of racing games and this I think awesomeness. I will likely get one. I also think games like Skyrim could be incredible on this as well.

I can't for the love of anything holy understand how any gamer can *not* be excited about this. Entering the world you until now have only watched through a small window in front of you?

I agree, this has me very excited. Driving, Flying, Adventure and FPS will be amazing. There are pictures on the net of Hello Games using Project Morpheus with No Man's Sky! Now that would truly be a special gaming experience.
I have a weak stomach, so I'm just a little worried about getting motion sickness. Other than that, seems cool.
I got really unbalanced the first time I tried Oculus Rift, Underdog. It's comparable with the sensation you get when you unaware walk onto a moving walkway – it really did rock my balance nerve.
But it didn't take long until my head managed to wrap around this new experience during those small demos we tried. But yeah – I'm pretty sure motion sickness might become an issue at times.

Fortunately, you still have the option to not buy it if you don't want it.
I can see ASMR videos being made like crazy on youtube for this.
yeah its defintely has a matrix like feel about it but we'll se what they want to do with it where they want to go with it.
