Saber Interactive, the developer behind such varied titles as Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2, Gloomhaven and Teardown, has announced a new single player survival horror title based on Clive Barker’s Hellraiser franchise.
The title, the first genuine series specific video game entry in its long lifespan*, appears to feature numerous Cenobites from the movies, at the minimum what would appear to be the original four from the original Hellraiser movie. The original actor and voice for Pinhead, Doug Bradley, is noted to be returning to the role “for the first time in 20 years.”
This contributor assumes it’s meant in a concerted effort, since Mr. Bradley also voiced the head Cenobite in his appearance in Dead by Daylight. The trailer below contains material not intended for the younger crowd, so do be forewarned before watching it.
There is yet to be an official release date for the title, but it’s set to release on PC, the various Xbox Series, and PS5.
* = The SNES Hellraiser game is not real, that was an April Fools joke, albeit a highly impressive one.
What do you think? Looking forward to Hellraiser finally getting it’s own video game? Relieved that it’s not another attempt at an asymmetric PVP horror title, like Saber’s own former unfortunately ill-fated Evil Dead: The Game? Please, let us know below!
