THQ Gets All Nostalgic With He-Man, Barbie, More

THQ has often fared well by obtaining various popular licenses, and it seems they'll continue to keep that tradition alive.

According to GameSpot , the publisher has signed a multi-platform deal with Mattel to produce games based on Barbie, Polly Rocket, Hot Wheels, Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots, and Masters of the Universe (i.e., He-Man). The titles in question will be available for various consoles and mobile devices, as well as PCs, social networks, the PSN, WiiWare, Xbox Live and handhelds. So if you've got kids around – or you're a kid yourself, wishing to relive the glory days of '80s childhood – stay on the lookout for more info concerning these future projects. For our part, we definitely think they should do some combining. You know, like Barbie and He-Man; she gets to be his trophy after suffering as the damsel in distress, or something. Then again, maybe you could create a bizarre blend of Hot Wheels and Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots…robots are terrorizing the earth and only the Hot Wheels (equipped with lotsa weapons) can take them down, ala Twisted Metal .

Well, use your imaginations. They may not be blockbusters, but they're sure to appeal to a certain demographic.
