PSN Back Up, Sony Will Extend Plus And Now Subscriptions

If you couldn't sign into the PlayStation Network on Monday, you weren't the only one.

A worldwide outage meant users couldn't do much of anything for that 24-hour period and now, Sony has issued an apology.

As the company stated at the PlayStation Twitter page , they plan to extend PS Plus and PS Now subscriptions for existing users, as a thank you for being patient while Sony restored the Network. They don't say exactly how long these extensions will be but it probably won't be for more than a day or two.

At the end of 2014, the PSN was down for a good four days, and Sony responded by granting five-day extensions on PlayStation-related accounts for users. You should be able to log in to the PSN today, by the way.

I can imagine the millions of gamers that were furious they couldn't play online with their buddies.

These things do not affect me at all because the majority of games I play are offline.

I actually see no reason for Sony to do another huge giveaway for just 1 day's loss of being down.

But on the flipside of the coin…..
if Sony's giving away the house, then maybe they should've done something for those who didn't have PS+, like give the rest of us 1 free month(and the + to that for Sony is that way they'll probably get a lot more full paying + sign-ups once the freebie ended).

Just my 2 cents(and I'll be wanting change back from that)

Here in Canada, we got rid of manufacturing pennies 2 years ago since making them cost more than the value they hold. If you pay cash now, we round 1 or 2 pennies down to zero and 3 or 4 pennies up to a nickel. So everything centswise is divisible by 5 (unless paying in something other than cash).

So here, you'd probably want to offer your 3 or more cents. 😉

Underdog, HA!

Thanks……

and once you ever step on U.S. soil, you're hired as my personal financial advisor.

BTW, I don't like how Canadians are charged the average of $3 more than us just for one of our paperback books that I read a ton of, that just sucks!

I wish there was a way I could send the ones I've read freight-free over to whomever wanted them. Right now I have to lean them against the trash dumpster's fence so hopefully my of the many tenant's here will see them & pick them up to read. But unfortunately, if the maintanence workers see them first, they toss them right in the dumpster, so it's always a sorry cat & mouse game for me

LOL! Just wait until you see how much we pay for games now that our dollar is taaaaanking!

($79.99 or $89.99 for a new game now! UGH! It's getting close to the SNES days… I remember buying Super Mario RPG for like $110 or something after tax!)

Holy hell,
Those game prices are absolutely horrible.

I'm glad that I only visited your country & after much self-debate while there, I decided not to move there as it was just way too cold there and had to wear a heavy coat(even though it was only late July).

BTW, I stayed in Montreal, & extended my stay for an extra 3 weeks for Expo 67, & loved the whole area, plus the underground city & mall, McGill University, & especially that World's Expo, all great stuff)

That's awesome! I've never lived near Montreal myself, but I've been there a ton. It's about an 8 hour drive mostly north of where I currently live in London, Ontario. We're just 2 hours from Detroit, and temperature wise it's pretty similar to that I guess. Actually, if you've ever been to Niagara Falls area, that's pretty much what it's like here. Before that I grew up on the East Coast in Nova Scotia. Weather there is just crazy unpredictable. I remember in grade 12, we had 2 days of school cancelled in a row for being too cold. (was like -40 something which is the same in Fahrenheit as it is Celsius) but then the day we went back to school, it was above freezing. Just crazy weird.
