Jason DittonBandai Namco’s heavily anticipated, by this contributor, continuation of the Digimon Story series had it’s release date announced at today’s 55-minute long State of Play online event. Digimon Story Time Stranger looks to take place after Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory, which itself was a follow-up to the relatively more simply named Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. Yeah, we know, that many times in a row and it stops look like words to us too.
The Digimon Story side of the Digimon franchise is basically a JPRG, if the Devil Survivor character designs, by the actual SMT: Devil Survivor artist, Yasuda Suzuhito didn’t tip you off to that. The series is as deep as the Digi franchise as a whole can be, with fascinating characters, genuinely surprising twists, load of Digimon to raise and Digivolve and some genuinely dark and unsettling moments. This contributor has been amped up for Time Strangers since it’s announcement, and we hope you’ll end up sharing the enthusiasm after watching the trailer, and looking up more information on the series.
Digimon Story Time Stranger releases October 3, 2025. It currently looks to be only on the PS5.
