If you check the Dutch site PSFocus – and you've got a translator – you'll see that several sources are saying publisher Bethesda Softworks has canceled the anticipated Prey sequel.
It has been in development at Human Head since last year but since then, we've heard next to nothing. Prey 2 was supposed to boast a new main character and even some drastic gameplay alterations; specifically, the familiar portals from the first game would disappear and the game would feel more like a traditional shooter. The developers had also intended to ditch the idea of online multiplayer so they could focus on the single-player campaign. Maybe that was it…no shooter these days can release without a multiplayer option, even if single-player remains the focus.
But whatever the reason, it seems we may never see Prey 2 . Well, it's not like there's a severe FPS shortage in gaming.

Let someone like Crytek handle it after they finish Homefront 2.
And keep it like the 1st Prey & STOP trying to change Prey into something else that it isn't.
Let's hope not, that game actually looked like something a bit different. High hopes for Doom 4 and Dishonored.

I've been waiting for DOOM 4 as well. Just starting playing the series again from the very beginning a few weeks ago. Still very enjoyable after 19 years.
DOOM is one of the only games from that era i can play for 5 hours on end and every minute of that was spent with a massive smile on my face!
hell, very few current games can do that!

Noooooo!! This was my 3rd anticipated game behing Mass effect 3 and Bioshock infinite for 2012.
doubt this is true, every game in zenimax library has been rumoured to be canned and all have been denied so.
i hope its not prey 2 looked really awesome!
zenimax always take their sweet time with their games so i doubt its been hang out to dry already.
hopefully will see more at E3.
