It Seems Sony’s PS4 Slogan Will Be “Greatness Awaits”

In the past, Sony has been accused of producing some vague and even downright bizarre ad campaigns for their new game hardware.

But creating a simpler, more straightforward slogan would make perfect sense for the PlayStation 4, right? After all, the PS4 is all about "simpler and more straightforward" from an architectural standpoint.

So maybe that's why the PS4's marketing slogan leading up to the launch will be "Greatness Awaits." Siliconera noticed the trademark application, which was filed on May 9 with the US Patent & Trademark Office. This patent covers a variety of videogame-related goods and services, including consoles and software. This follows a leaked ad for the PS4, which also boasted the "Greatness Awaits" slogan. We'll probably start seeing it everywhere.

That suits me just fine. "Greatness." …see? Simple.

Love it. Unapologetically positions PS4 as the place for, well, greatness. I'm sure they'll take a misstep at some point, but so far Sony's PS4 strategy has been really impressive. I'm definitely getting more and more excited. There's nothing quite like Christmas season when there's a great new console to look forward to, huh?

missteps are bound to happen but even that can be a good thing depending on how they manage it

I would love it if they'd make nice with Jerry Lambert. A "Greatness Awaits" campaign with kevin Butler? That would work!

After that legal trouble I don't think he'd go back to Sony.

Seems okay, but kind of implicitly says things haven't been great so far and that's not the case.

Or they could be saying: "You think it was great before? You ain't seen nothin' yet!"

almost like their acknowledging theres going to be a slow start and they want you to be patient with them.
