GTAV, Watch Dogs Top “Most Violent Games Of 2014” List

If you're a parent of young children, Consumer Reports has published a list of video games to avoid.

The American reviews publication has produced their list of the "5 Most Violent Video Games of 2014," calling them titles that "should never come anywhere near your kids."

Unsurprisingly, the report only includes well-known games:

Hey, what about the reimagined Shadow Warrior ? And last I checked, some of the imagery in Far Cry 4 is just downright sick and twisted. But anyway, Consumer Reports also published a list of the best games for kids, and it includes titles like Disney Infinity 2.0 and LittleBigPlanet 3 .

I like to post the GTAV pic with the sailboat in such articles, just so some clueless parent somewhere gets confused.

This list is just.. Dumb. Evil Within is far more bloody and violent than GTAV is, but I guess since GTAV is teaching us men how to sexually assault women and how to kill them, I suppose it makes sense to have it as #1 violent game of the year.

This is nothing new. The media has always had, and unfortunately probably always will have a bias against video games, especially violent ones. It's just sad, sad that good parenting takes a back seat to age ratings and video game and/or film content.

I practically grew up on GTA and CoD and not once have I gone on some kind of killing spree or sexually assaulted anyone.

GTA V is one of the roots that results shooting cases of massive killings and domestic violence across the US especially when arm sales are rampant without control in this country of freedom.

Except that violent crime rates (including mass shootings) have been dropping for 20 years even as games have become ever more graphic and ever more popular.

Do not believe in statistic, a recent poll and survey shows 68% of the Americans believe the crimes is getting more serious and worsening each year. 4 in 10 feel unsafe to walk outside their home at night. If crime rate indeed decrease, there wouldn't have so much pessimism amongst the general public.

Perception is not reality. Polls and surveys are well and good but they're anecdotal; they show that anxiety exists but nothing more than that. The best data available tracking these things shows the opposite and has for decades.
