DICE Nominations: The Witcher 3, Rise Of The Tomb Raider Lead

Looks like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is in line for more accolades.

After landing four GDC Award nominations , CD Projekt Red's acclaimed RPG has now earned eight more from The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

The nominees for the 19th annual D.I.C.E. Awards have been revealed and The Witcher 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider lead the way with 8 nods each, including nominations for overall Game of the Year. The other GotY nominees are the excellent PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne , the extremely well-received Ori and the Blind Forest , and Bethesda's widely beloved open-world RPG, Fallout 4 . Ori and the Blind Forest got six nominations in all, Fallout 4 received five, and The Order: 1886 , Her Story and Star Wars: Battlefront got four nods each. Other great games, like Batman: Arkham Knight , Destiny: The Taken King , Rocket League , Life is Strange and Undertale got three nominations each.

I tend to agree with the D.I.C.E. nominees and winners each and ever year, and I think I know why. Anyway, the winners will be announced during an awards ceremony in Las Vegas on February 18. Late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata will be honored with a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award, and don't forget that film director Guillermo del Toro will usher Hideo Kojima into the AIAS Hall of Fame .
