Assassin’s Creed Unity: Co-Op, Gear And Focus On Stealth

There will be no competitive multiplayer in Assassin's Creed Unity but no matter. Co-op action is going to be lots of fun.

As revealed in a new PlayStation Blog post, the new next-gen Assassin's Creed 's online co-op "opens up a tremendous amount of new strategies formerly unavailable in the series."

A second player will change everything. One can distract guards while another sneaks by, or the two assassins can work together to eliminate a pesky patrol. This is the kind of multiplayer action fans will likely appreciate, and makes more sense than standard competitive multiplayer modes. Furthermore, the designers are taking another step toward impressive gameplay depth, as your equipment will affect the way Arno traverses the environment.

Yep, "every hood, belt, coat and weapon" has an impact, so how you customize Arno will make a big difference. Toss this into the co-op aspect and you've got a robust, endlessly interesting mode. It's also important to note that Ubisoft Montreal has worked to create a more fluid conversion between stealth and combat, so "making diversions into swordplay and gunfire" will feel more natural.

As such, the developers are hoping players will return to stealth more quickly because after all, we play as an assassin. This is my kind of feature! Assassin's Creed Unity releases for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC at the end of October.
