Sledgehammer Not Helping Infinity Ward With New Call Of Duty

You might've assumed that Sledgehammer Games was helping Infinity Ward with the development of the recently announced Call of Duty: Ghosts .

After all, Sledgehammer assisted with Modern Warfare 3 , so why not? But as it turns out, Sledgehammer isn't involved with the new CoD project and they're working on something fresh. A new IP, perhaps…?

This is evidenced by a Tweet from the studio:

"Congrats to @InfinityWard on #CODGhosts! Our team is heads down on our next project, but best wishes to the hardworking team at IW!"

We don't have any details on their new project just yet, but we're hoping it comes to light sooner rather than later. This team has a lot of talent; remember that Sledgehammer was formed when Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey left EA's Visceral Games back in 2009. There's no knowing what they're working on now; there had been a rumor that they'd produce a third-person action-oriented Call of Duty title. That never materialized, though, so now we're all waiting patiently…

So it seems Infinity Ward has their hands full with Ghosts .
