If everyone remembers the debacle that was Superman on the N64, and realizes that we've never really had a stellar video game featuring the original Man of Steel, I bet a lot of people hoped the rumor was true.
Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios is supposedly working on multiple projects right now, and one of them is apparently a superhero-based title. For a while, many thought it was a new Superman game.
After Superannuation hinted at the rumor, Avalanche founder Christofer Sunderg took to Twitter to clear things up:
"Superman game? We do a lot of weird things but that's not one of them."
It was announced last year that Avalanche was working on a new open-world title (presumably the oft-teased Just Cause 3 ), a game based on a movie franchise, and another game based on a comic book. Some believe the one centering on a movie could be a "Mad Max" effort, but it appears the Superman idea is out. Well, at least we'll "fly" to some extent in Just Cause 3 . Wacky grappling hook FTW!
