While Metal Gear Solid: Rising is coming to multiple platforms, the die-hard fans are thinking it might be best on the PS3.
There are multiple reasons for believing that, but perhaps they're right: according to a new interview with Rising director Shigenobu Matsuyama, the PS3 version will be better simply because it's the more powerful piece of hardware. The translation is broken but Matsuyama's intention is relatively clear, and he finishes as follows: "So it is natural that the PS3 version is better than the other two versions." One could assume it's all because of the PS3's capabilities, or one could remember this particular team is likely comprised of individuals who are much more familiar with Sony's hardware. Granted, Kojima is only a figurehead – of sorts – when it comes to this project; he isn't directly involved. But just about anything MGS from Kojima Productions just has to be best played on the PS3, yes?
It's all the worse for the other two platforms (Xbox 360, PC) if they're planning on ports. We're actually hoping they make the game from the ground up for all three platforms; nobody likes shoddy ports. But either way, if you have the option, it seems Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the PS3 is the right choice.
